While reading Celebration patch notes, seeing all those numbers about players, accounts, etc. it made me wonder. But I need your input to try to find an answer, because when WAR came out I just licked it at the beginning and came back, shamefully, to WoW.
1. How different is ROR from original WAR?
2. Why WAR failed while ROR is blooming and growing?
Thoughts?
You will like most of the changes here. Many, but not all of the major problems plaguing WAR are fixed or are being addressed here in RoR. Really some of the highlights that come to mind:
- Gear itemization and power creep has been seriously toned down (so that highly geared players arent wtf pwning lowly geared players)
- You can now queue for a pug sc and avoid premades (or vice a versa)
- Population issues have been fixed even further by combining tiers and buffing players even further.
- Classes that once needed TLC have been buffed and are arguably a bit op right now (like Eng, WL, SW, etc)
- Small, but intelligent things like reporting exploits are rewarded now (in game mount, etc).
- Endgame involves alot more pvp and less pve (Sigmar has read our prayers)
- PvE items have been made useful, but not a requirement for best in slot. (hopefully this continues)
- Over the top morales, tactics and abilities have been or are being fixed
