I would argue that, of all pet classes, the WL's lion should be the most durable. SHs do rely on their squigs, but can still function well without them. WLs -need- their pet for the majority of their burst/utility.

Ideally it should be % of owner stats for all pets and all stats. Instead of making class X pets stronger I think the pet types melee, medium range, long range should have different profiles of how much % they gain.
To prevent pets from melting by random AOE thus failing in a WB-WB fight there needs to be some sort of % on heal from owner or a base regen on the pet. I like the first option since it don't make pets boss 1-1. When the owner get no heals the pet gets no heals.
As pointed out pathing needs to be better and/or speed boosted when running towards its owner

well i believe pets like WOW are nice (90% less dmg from aoe attacks and they get 20% of their masters stats) but ofc just a suggestion i never played warhammer back in retail and i dont kow how pets were but i believe make them die in 2 hits is not that great thing.(talking about WL)

Iirc pets on the original server were handled like groupmembers and are affected by groupheals/buffs (e.g. you could buff the lion with the runepriest buffs). They couldn't be guarded though.

Well, that had its moments, cause a Horned being healed or a Lion being healed was basically a huge torpedo in the floating line of a sieged group, and i dont mean in keeps, but in objectives. Discouraged fight and instead, during some time, t1 was the torpedo-range with the unlimited trial. Squig come, Lion goes, all the time. Eventually one of the reasons -not the principal, not even ones of the important ones, but one- why cannons were added. Bad times.

I fully endorse this.
...what? What's a WL player supposed to say in a topic like this one?

Again T4 is where pets underperform and WLs are the class that therfore underperform.
1. Pathing was screwed so in effect the WL PET abilities was screwed
2. They die to easily 1-1 and even were used as heal battey as they lacked def
3. In warband fights they insta melt from bakgrund AOE since they have 0 heal
Needs to be fixed even if you were geting owned by pets in T1

The design of stat buffs which pass a couple of stats from the master to the pet naturally causes a large disparity between pets and their masters as the master receives more and more stats from items.
I am not sure what you mean here. It sounds like the pet only got some stats from the naked player.

It's more likely that pets had their own base stats. Since they can't get item / talisman bonuses and can't use potions, the only improvements to their stats would come from buffs. When players have a crapload of stats from items, talismans, potions etc, a pet can't be expected to stay relevant.

It had basestats, which were nowhere visible and it got stats from items including talismans. Which stats were taken and how many % depends on the type of pet or training.
