Youre straight dilusional thinking sorcs can out bomb bw m2 yes the sorc/bo combo is nice but we're talking about most needed classes for large scale rvr i mean back on live sorc was aoe king next to bws but those days are long gone they are supposidly in the pipeline with sorc aoe buff

The cooldown for Infernal Wave on an aoe specced Sorc is 5s and not 10s. (Neverending Agony tactic)

Sorcs can't reach 1200 Morale aoe damage with any of it's aoe skills and certainly not with Infernal Wave. And that's what Oneman is writing about, miltuple 1200 morale twos being kicked of at the same time, M2 bombing. Marauders are the best choice on destruction for this kind of gameplay. They can survive longer in melee than any other mdps/rdps class on destruction side and have that 1200 damage M2.

Issue with melee range aoe Sorc is that cq is not reliable enough and we need to wait to have this fixed in the future. And for me, my opinion, Surging Pain cost is too high at 20 DM for the damage it does.

I recommend playing dd AM atm. Mara is imba atm, because he has a Terrible Embrace (this is totally imba, idk why, but everyone thinks so). dd Zealot is pretty op class, but noone would want to play with you (thi is not relevant). This is a quick guide for everyone who want to play "viable classes" ending playing like a retard not knowing what buttons to press.

No specific classes, rather needs build synnergies back.

Then I want to ask you a question:
Why the most feared of Destro guilds, I mean TUP, play with at least 5 sorcs in their wb?

I doubt that these guys don't know their classes.

You said why on page one. And there were also reasons on page 1 from the lads here why stacking mara is good (but its mostly the ap drain, lesser the morale drain)

You can range bomb atm with IW 0 seconds CD.
(again, this was reported now MONTHS ago)

4 BOs (each a party), a magus, a dps zealot for resistance decrease and hd and as many sorcs as you can get.

Even without the IW "feature" "we" (most officers) prefer range bombing.

With a mara stack you have 0 pressure once moving to keep or defending.
Full mara stack basically wins most endurance fights, but suffers the usual range vs melee backdraws in our opinion. Also mara loses a lot dps when slotting the support tactics, from my personal mara experience they are worthless if you try to mix them in / add them to uncoordinated grps.

For our setups we tend to mix in a mara for aoe kd sometimes, but its not a musthave. Usually that mara doesn't run any drain. (raw dps bomb spec)

@OP: a variety of classes is the best route you can take, do what you like, wouldn't try to "please the realm" with your pick. Just don't roll solo a choppa etc. It will be just frustrating for you.

Most of the time I have no idea what I'm doing, but it seems to work, considering the opposition consists of Order players. (some good ones, but mostly just pugs)
And Order wbs in general tend to absolutely run anything else but BW-meta setups, meaning their compositions are so trash it's barely a fight when you yourself bring the 5Sorc 1dpsZealot 1Magus 1Mara setup and watch the Order pugs log out.

Anyway, if you want good warband AoE, roll Sorc, or even good ranged ST burst (Magus also has fine ST burst, but personally hate stationary pet)
For maybe less risky WB pugging, roll a Mara
For good solo gameplay, maybe a WE.
For good tank, either Chosen or Black Ork. (BG only if you want to play 6man stuff)
For good heals, either DoK or Zealot.

People have so many alts, what is needed one day is overpopulated the next, and so on. Just play what feels fun.


edit; regarding Sorcs - IW has 0 s CD for many months, been in bugtracker like maybe 3-4 months now.
And M2 - you have WWS for oRvR and FM for Shattering Shadows keep oils, some Order always die to that ye olde tricke. WWS + 1001 + M3 + Challenge, when properly played, will make your WB very very tanky.

I wasn't aware of the no cd on IW.
I recall a 5s timer on it last time I played my Sorc, couple or more days ago. Could be an illusion although, generated by my brain. Will have to check this one.

Good thing with TUP tanks is that they now the drill to protect ranged focussing oil.

I agree with the tup guy, just play what you like, its a dead game on an alpha server, so squeeze out every minute of fun you can get until it gets thrown in the garbage bin of history.

dont mind the warbands***ers talk about ideal comps, there is no order guild who can pull that of, cntk is down to 2 groups and has to take every ooompa loompa they can get to fill the group

For example I play wrath wp right now, and its the biggest fun I ever had, running around solo, dying more than beying alive, maybe I should go and see the doctor.

So long story short: decide what you want to to (warband/solo/smallscale) and then think about the class that brings you the most fun doing that!

Grand alliance got out bombed during the great war over a year ago... and that was with a sorc compo

there is alot of hate on both sides and misunderstanding of what is good or what is stronger(Bias inc)... i know whatever side we play and if we bring a compo close to what i want we will be competetive and there's a reason why we stack certain classes.

NRM know what they are doing, they run sorc heavy compo too...

There are different ways you can do things, but for a MARA compo I can understand why you think its great because in NA you can run almost any compo and make it work just because the lack of population in comparison(you could make full blackguard wb work for example)... a full Mara compo in EU primetime can work to some degree(but less effective overall), phalanx did something when mara was stronger in the past, same like SH pre nerf... I know what i would run for it but you would be a one trick pony and you have to be in your face / aggressive pushing.

you have to take damage to do damage, and against one or two warband thats okay... but against four warbands that is useless and death. Atleast with sorc you can kite, also for keep sorc does better pressure offensively and defensively than any mara can by far... you want to poke the funnel oh what a lovely rift/magnet by bitterstones Engi = RIP bye bye dps and morale.

All the raid's we have done in primetime EU Sorc has been way ahead on kill score, each and everytime... Nyn, Taura, Thofer, Mal, or Goform from NRM and others ... No mara name ring's any bells and take guild wb out of equation, puggies its the same in EU Sorc > Mara if you went for pure dps. (Mara have more utility/tanky)

Mara is not a bad WB class its a very solid all rounder, and great in small scale.

OP, are you going to lead? are you going to Sc? roam? small scale? or you want large scale all the time? and what is your style preference?

Blackguard superior in small scale
Chosen/Black ork good for large scale
Sorc/Magus good for large scale
Mara if you want a all rounder
Zealot/Dok/Shammy all good for large scale

sh/choppa/we better in small scaler/roam enviroment also
