Re: Choosen Feedback
The point he made is quite a thing. You could bring an aura more fluently into the rotation, based on the situation. Take Discordant Fluctuation/Turbulence, a highly situational and borderline useless aura you don't wanna run all the time. But sometimes, you know...Fallenkezef wrote:Not everyone shares that opinionPanzerkasper wrote:Luuca said it right, twisting was the way better option as it is now.
I highly disliked the change to the mechanic in RoR since I started here. It made the Chosen even more braindead then it was before.

Re: Choosen Feedback
Twister existed, that is the issue but instead of making it work like twister they just hardcoded it which makes it less interactive.
Still, the current version is way better than just running an addon to avoid carpal tunnel, yeah the former one gave you the choice of swapping them but you mostly didnt do it at all.

Devs have regularly stated they want to see an active mechanic for Chosen/KoBS rather than the current 'click 3 best auras and forget you have a class mechanic'. One at a time still removes the mind numbing repetitive reactivation of twisting/limited duration, but makes it an active mechanic with meaningful choices - do I need to be buffing allies str or toughness right now, maybe we need a brief healing buff..?
It would also allow IB/SM or BO/BG combos to be a realistic choice, right now you give up over 1000 stat points of buffs/debuffs by not bringing the over performing tank, and it's just not a viable choice.
I see maths isn't your strong point....
120 ish toughness for party (ie 6 if you're having trouble keeping up) = 720.
120 ish strength for party = 720.
You've then got a choice with the third, usually crit modifier/AP or even resists which off the top of my head is about 230ish too all resists to all party.
So yeah, conservative estimate with just str and tough auras is a KoBS/Chosen brings about 1400 stat points to a group, if you include resist aura as well its more like 5500 stat points. So 'over 1000 stat points' is a good under estimate...
Oh, and that's before you even consider the slightly reduced str/toughness/resist debuffs on opposition too, which hits enemy within 30 feet which if you're a half competent tank is way more than 6 people.
So it's either a 1400ish stat boost to party and a 1200 ish stat debuff to enemy, or a 5500ish stat boost to party and a 3000ish stat debuff to enemy just by showing up and standing about afk as a KoBS/Chosen.
Which bit were you struggling to comprehend exactly?

Thank you for providing us with all the evidence we need... Anyway, back to the proper conversation.
What you fail to comprehend is that I have a KoBS, I also have other tanks. Let's maybe try and balance for the good of the game rather than 'don't take my op toys away' please.

Haha that's relevant because...? 'well I've never heard of you so that makes maths and logic invalid'?
As I said, let's try and keep 'don't touch my class' out of balance discussions. The end goal here is a balanced game with a healthy pop, OP classes on either side helps no-one in the long run other than players that put time invested in those classes over the good of the game.
