Stats for a rank 40/40 defensive tank?

you need more than 200 strength, even as deftard tank. You need to be able to land CC reliably, and you will get blocked/parried all the time. You can't rely on perfect positioning all the time, esp with NA ping, you need to prepare by boosting Str a little.

I run str pot in rvr.
Results in 360 str in full Conq, Genesis set of the everlasting, SC I wep, SC II shield.

However, you hit more than enough spells.
Only thing that's unreliable is aoe punt on BO, and only when applied frontal.

Try to angle yourself when you want to apply crucial cc so you bypass enemies parry and block.

Position is key. I do hate the tank-spam you see in Dessie teams but so many of them play very poorly.

Allot just activate thier shield wall snd either stand there or slowly back away. Easy pickings for a slayer.

As an mdps that faces allot of tanks I'd say toughness and wounds over armour.

talis:
armor, tough mix.
test with greens.
for me sorc/magus/witch are greater threat. they ignore armor. tough is better against them.
find most threats in your style and fill the hole with talis.
str 250~450
tough 850~650
+-50 from anni to BiS i think.

you may not need 700+ tough in premade.
but in pug,
solo def tank in full WB or in SC
happens quite often in order.
extream toughness required in that situation.
at least once or twice stand at front
hoping ur team use the window u made.

Right now I'm using 3 anni + 2 ruin, because I was thinking that maybe +320 spiritual resistance is better than +55 toughness (and also anni gear is more well-rounded stat-wise than ruin gear).

But at first I was actually going for 2 anni + 3 ruin. I changed when people told me that too much toughness is not worth it.
I use 5 armor talis, 1 wounds tali and 1 str tali. I already have a lot of toughness thanks to genesis gear.
Right now, I'm 40/41 and I'm at:
309 str
691 toughness
760 wounds
275 initiative
4805 armor buffed.
I played for a few hours in open wb yesterday, and I'm quite difficult to kill. I may change some talis later on if I manage to get the 2 genesis pieces I need.

I would really recommend getting more wounds if you plan on doing mass rvr in wbs. Once you come against good destro opposition and morales start flying, you won't last very long. Increase your hp by at leat 1k more I would say.

Its situational and group dependent.
Depending on your play style and group set ups people will say different things.

From personal experience I believe it is best in slot for Knight in 6 man play who are roaming and quing scenarios. For warband play both organised and pug its likely different, but I don't know because I don't play that at all.
