Today was a crash, during a normal server boot things behave a better.

Wait for another reset. There is usually one performed every Friday.

Hello,

I was going to play an old character and when I clicked "Play" I had the following message :
"Your character has a duplicate name. Please rename your character."

I'm a bit surprised, I thought it was not possible to use a name already taken. And when I search I can't find anyone with my old name "Sahti".
I haven't renamed my character yet, because I would like to know if there's a reason to that or if it's a bug ?
Does someone had experienced the same thing ?

Inactive accounts/characters names becomes up for grabs after a few months now-a-day.

After exactly a year and that date varies for each of your characters based on the character's specific creation date.

But there's still something that I don't understand :

I searched in "armory" for my old name and nobody has claimed this name.
I tried to rename my character with the old name but it doesn't work.
I also tried to create a new character with the name but it doesn't work either.

Why can't I take again the name whereas it's free ?

The armory hasn't really worked or updated for ages. The name is taken and the character that has is still probably showing up under it's old name
