you need to know when to stop chasing.
I understand it's hard in this meleeless realm.
front line is important but overextend should be 'mistake', not regular thing.

you draw front line at enemy's backline, like always.
think of your backline and enemy's front line too.
sometimes you have to pull back frontline.

It's as simple as this:
Find a WL, WH or Slayer, guard the **** out of him, be his shadow, follow him everywhere he goes (except if the slayer in mention is Barracudax, that guy just loves to go Rambo style ). But also have your eye on the back line, and if somebody starts nuking your healer/rdps, switch the guard and run towards the back line.

Sorry. But i would not suggest anyone taking advice from you. You always rush in, guard is a skill you barely use, you always run of solo to try and hold back destro(no succes) healing you is something i stopped doing a long time ago.

I don't know, I think that 2h tanks are very low priority on Guard need list

1) mdps
2) rdps
3) healers
4) tanks

Just because you insist on abandoning most of your defensive stats, and refuse to maximize the potential of all your tanking related skills, doesn't make you a higher priority guard target.
The only reason why a fellow tank should guard another tank is if they are both deep within enemy lines and no other allies within 100 feet taking hits.

Even as high RR 2hander SM, you will still be quite hard to kill, provided you do not go full loldps.

You guard whoever is getting focused.
