He can't be serious at all, when suggesting this.
Applying DoT cancels detaunt like it was on Live Server. Anything else would break any DoT class.

Magus solo whole WBs with their dots, and then detaunt and get away with it. And don't even get me started on Acid Bomb...

If dot damage broke detaunt then detaunt would be useless for a lot of classes. There would be no way to detaunt someone for up to 24s when you needed it. Might aswell put a 30s cd on guard switching while we're at it.
If damage reduction abilities can't be used when needed they would be pointless and all would need to be rethought.
