This spec works perfectly fine with .ab ex enabled. It's the one I use on my AM.

I see no reason to bother going full Vaul, since EoV has such a short range requirement. Given how squishy AM is, it seems highly counterproductive to build with the intent of being within 80 ft of a clump of enemies in order to maximize healing output.

I don't even like being within 100 ft of an enemy, but BE is good enough to be worth that (admittedly nominal at times) risk.

@ OP - If you want to play a backline healer with the most potential healing output, go AM. If you want to provide group utility and still have pretty strong heals, go RP.

And the second build is this.
In case you want a 1.2s cast-on-the-run that will heal you through any heal debuff. And as bonus even heals those around you. (and can easily heal 4k under pressure)
Totally depends on you playstyle, group and experience.

But generally:
AM: Heals with life tap, you want to stay within 100 ft of a good target, great single target healing, solid group heal.
RP: Only targets an enemy for cc and detaunt. Less raw healing. More buffs to make up for it.

AM = ST detaunt, AoE detaunt, PBAoE snare, stock knockback, speccable range punt, best AP management with Wild Healing and AP Drain (can be specced into AoE Drain), just as mobile as RP since '.ab ex', best ST focus/burstheal, goodish gheal spam, goodish semi-AoE heal on the small lifetaps with '.ab ex', with avoidance/armor stack and proper gear remarkably tough.

RP = offers the best group utility - can be built into dedicated AP feeder, AoE HD-bot, (...) -, very mobile but lacks reliable snare, knockback and speccable ST stagger, a good indefinite detaunt, has an easy time getting to armor softcap, horrible mastery situation.

TLDR: Positioning + group (composition, coordination, ...) > class.
as a magus I love AM and RP. they melt so fast under the press of father nurgles corruption. its the **** war priests that take all day to die. but at the same time the wp pads my dps numbers nicely.

hey everyone im playing a AM and i just dinged 40,rr35.

I managed to farm the ruin set fully so im using that for now until i can upgrade to annihilator.

This thread is a little confusing as it talks alot about the AM experimental mode which im not sure what happened to that , was it intergrated into the class? im not sure.

Also i use this build RoR.builders - Archmage

I use that build for 6 mans and open rvr and scens too.

I slot willpower talis +18s because thats what i can afford for now.

How do you think i can improve? And also what other gear sets to aim for after anni?

IMHO, Your build is not perfectly well. Cause u chouse the "Law of gold" and u have no "mistress of the march", which u must have for RvR. Taktiks - change "Discipline" to "Restorative burst". If u need some special - u can change "wild healing" to another taktik, for ex. "harried restore". AM heal with critikal heals, for healing u need to be alive as long as possible - after critheal your next main stat is wounds, the next willpower.
