There's nothing better than that.

THIS is the only reward, more pvp/rvr.

No because according to your own signature, you killed WAR. Sry.

I think this needs to be brought before a tribunal of elders.

All good points. However its often never a good idea to give out things that give powerful physical bonuses and what not. From my experience, a few things work quite well on a free based game.
-cool looking cosmetic items
-very minor lv1 items with +1 or 2 to basic stats
-a level limited exp potion that can only be used up until level 10

Also instead of a referral system a voting system could be used to draw players in. The last WOW server I was an admin on used this to great effect by offering rewards for voting every day. By having a higher vote rank, it appears closer to the front page of the top 10 sites and more people get to see it. Im sure there is one we could use for this game. Gaining 1 to 3 vote points per day voting on every site and spending them on either cosmetic items, nice mounts, temp duration buff pots, or anything else deemed a decent idea.

Just suggestions really, but I felt would be nice to share them :)

I am familliar with those voting sites and fear the effect of being 'popular' on those is a vast amount of cheaters/hackers and ghost accounts. (not to mention most sites are ad popup/spam²)
Most private servers employ the pay to win mechanism - buy your gear with real money and have minimal moderation/rulesets (i played on a alot of 'top' wow and KO servers looking for balance, i was a jedi before i was a dwarf  )

I would not touch referrals - the thing about ror is that its unique, i have only recently stumbled upon this gem fearing another private server (as mentioned above). I reckon its better to have people that want to play WARHAMMER online rather then another free mmo.

Its not my intent to be negative but from experience i cant think of any private server before this one where i havent bailed almost the same day due to rampant imbalance/hacks/cheats/cash for gear and no gm's, so people frequenting said sites expect this rather then a game with rules and balance. Might attract the wrong crowd ;)

If you like this game you automatically refer folks you know that you think might enjoy it, no ?
I have, dont need a reward, the reward is that i can now play with newfound mates and a few old friends.

While an actual referral system likely wouldn't work here, be assured that working hard to get the word out about the project and helping us get more players is noticed and greatly appreciated. There are lots of people here actively streaming (for example) and that has had a big positive impact. Many people find this project via twitch and youtube channels. While we may not be able to offer reward items for helping to build the player base, the more folks we have to more cool stuff we could potentially do.

Referring new players already gives you the ultimate reward: more players to play with.
