You are probly right, but concerning RoR, AVG never gave me any problems. Ever.
edit: of course i have tried running the game with AVG deactivated.

I'm not that technically enlightened about these things but my hunch is that it's so many people trying to log in the launcher has had a minor meltdown. I'll wager 5g on that one!
