The classes are designed to not be played intermixed but to be played within a same race. RoR is actively trying to change this thou to fit the communities perspective. Meaning, originally classes were designed to not be in competition with each other for slots. Meaning you take 2 IB's in a dwarf group. At one time there was a racial renown tactic that provided boosted morale gain for each member of your group of the same race. Morale's are suppose to be the cannon on the back of the chariot. Meaning morale's, are suppose to be devastating. This morale gain tactic got taken away around the time that Mark Jacobs got fired thou.

Footpatrol never done me any wrong, but he bangs on about this racial group nonsense and I have never seen a lick of proof that the devs wanted the game that way. I played live, and followed the game through alpha and beta, and it just isn't true.

Either way, it's a bit off topic, though he is right in a certain way: IB meshes pretty damn well with Slayer. So anathir, make your IB and show us all how it's done Always love to see more of us IBs out there, especially if they pick The One True Path (2h, duh)

Oh god haha. I said i was sort of new but I'm way ahead of volgo's level of play.

Well that's not saying much, as according to public lore, I am positively awful at this game. NB would be my only hope, but I can't find it on my bar!

To be on topic : IB's role is to look cool, roleplay with grudges (so we have a reason to be mad anytime we want) and feel legitimized to sing the Dwarves of Ekrund song with the 3rd Bitterstone dudes.

You play IB in a group without WL, but some people will tell you the WH's armor debuff gun is "good enough" not to run IB because SM is that much better.

It's basically a walking armor debuff right now because KotBS/SM combo is way too good. Same reason BG is is considered trash, because BO/Ch combo is too good.

It's not necessarily if you look at IB/BG in a vacuum that the classes are bad, it's just that when you are building a group and considering all your options that they classes fall out of favor.
