In the state that its an alpha, permanent is not a good idea. We need Just a little Timer like 1-2 hours. Mostly The biggest impact is after lost keep fights. And than ppl switch and zone the lock with The other side.

With the coming of Conqourer gear and a campaign that has purpose, ititially capturing fortresses and obtaining conqourer gear then the subsiquent city sieges a lock out timer which prevents players from rapidly switching sides is needed.
The lockout timer needs to be long enough to prevent individuals or groups of players from switching sides towards the end of a campaign push to benefit from what would be esentially "free" fort caps or empty city sieges.
The "free" fort cap is an issue if the contribution for forts can not be coded to include the involvment of capturing the 3 prior pairing zones. The empty city siege point should be known to most plyers.
A lock out of 6 hours is long enough to hold through a gaming session for fort pushes when realms get to gether and enables players who long on during the day to play with their guilds later that night. When cities are introduced, the lock outs need to be longer, around 8 hours. City pushes on live took longer, usually occured at the end of gaming sessions and this is where you need to prevent groups from being able to flip to exploit empty cities instances.
A permenant lockout, while introducing the concept of realm pride, hinders this process for reasons already outlined by others before me.

As suggested earlier, I wouldn't mind a couple of hours (even 24hrs) lock to either destro or order. I play mainly destro, but because the classes are not mirrored, I'd like to be able to play on order side from time to time.

Nope. Not a fan of a cooldown period either.
IIRC this was a 'feature' back in live, and it was fine as you had multiple servers to choose from and a large enough player base (well, in the early days anyway..). So you could just hop to another server if you wanted to play as the opposite realm or the status of the server didn't suit you.
With only 1 server and player numbers where they are, limiting users to play the class they want to at any gives time would only diminish the experience, instead of improving it.

But aslong As it is how it is orvr will never be a balanced Thing. Just a reward hopping. Wy u loose expirience If u have to wait a Bit to switch side... ?

Personally I think a permanent lockout is OTT, given it limits the content available to players. It wouldn't affect me as I only play order but I like to know the option is there for me to roll destro one day if I so choose.
I do however believe a temporary lockout is required to counter xrealming. In my opinion 6 hours would be a good place to start which could be reviewed after a trial period.

If I sit down for an evening of gaming, I want the freedom to play whichever character I feel like. A (for example) 6 hour realm lockout would mean I have to commit to a limited set of characters for the whole period.
Personally I like it when I load my black orc (or whatever), play around a bit, and then be able to switch to my warrior priest because I feel like it. Not with the goal to abuse anything, but because I'm in the mood to enjoy one character over another.
Let me just say that if and when the team decides a lockout timer is necessary I hope it will be limited to 10 minutes or something. Enough to prevent ad-hoc realm hopping, but not too long as to be really limiting.

well But Just cause ppl want freedom what they play u still want let ppl Hard xrealm.. Thats egoistic.. Have screen from so siege in cw 87 destru players against 72 order. Destru attack a keep an Whipes. Two minits later 58 destru to, 99 order.. If we can solve These Problems with cut a Bit of freedom.. That u have to wait an hour or so Just lest do it

Permanent lockout? I'm out, will miss yall though. Catch me in arma 3
Edit: i would be ok with a 30 min lockout timer though. Gives me enough time to check reddit, grab two breers, a smoke, a piss and the chance to check tinder.
