Re: Respec Price
I just want to know if I have this right. Gold is "minted" into the economy via quest rewards and drops from mobs (either direct gold drops or from items sold to Npc merchants). Gold is removed from the economy via respec fees, mail fees, flight master fees, auction house fees, npc healer fees, and items bought from npc merchants. Aside from directly adjusting the amount of gold in the economy via wipes, these are the factors that affect the amount of money in game?

Torquemadra wrote:Nice try, free respecs does nothing to facilitate reports of non functional abilities and this is the same farcical argument we get from people who want instant characters and free stuff which also isnt going to happen.Renork wrote:So many contradictions. It has been said multiple times that this is an alpha server and we are "testers"? So, lowering the respec costs allows people to test multiple specs and ensure that abilities are working correctly, no? Many people understand what gold inflation is Luth, but your answer is quite silly.
You compare lowering respec costs to "free characters and free stuff"? Oh why am I not surprised, especially coming from you.
Re: Respec Price
You forgot Dyes and Fast Mounts. I guess that's covered in NPCs, but they are each individually set for gold sinks.eks wrote:I just want to know if I have this right. Also, the CoD bug helps a lot too in sure;)
Gold is super easy to farm. Solo I can grind up 100g in around an hour solo, on either side. One also needs to think about all the times people where able to easily farm gold on the server, without bug exploitation. For instance, when you where allowed to take kill quests and have them complete in SCs and any zone. One could farm 7.5g per 25kill(i.e. Per SC).
I know people with thousands of Gold. The fact they are in the minority is actually a good thing. I don't want every +18 tali to cost 250g on AH, or armor pots for 100g a stack.
At the end of the day, if you are so broke, just ask someone for a loan or beg. Let em know you need to help someone with PvE or whatever and can't afford to respec. Or, you can just spend 10min farming and plan ahead before you dump gold on a respec you can't get out of.

Well looks like we've got our answers on respec from a department lead, who very much has the ability to speak for the project..
