Good idea. Haven't seen much that would lead me to think any sort of reward for 6mans would be input. Could be wrong though, but based on previous threads requesting additional rewards, I ain't holding my breath.

Having said that, I have been a large fan of cosmetic rewards being used as carrots. I've always thought that was the best reward you could give to hyper active or competitive. It doesn't make them better, and those players tend to care about cosmetic stuffs...

Putting it into a repeatable SC quest could be good. My counter proposal though, would be for X players killed in 6man SCs. Just me, but I prefer rewarding kills overheat getting a W.

Gl here!

Yeah that would probably work better to be honest, otherwise people would just make 3 tank/3 wp comps and camp the flag to cheese it.

This will never happen, which is why there needs to be a ranking system

I think we've to see 6 man premading events more in a form of educating the general population on how to play the game properly rather then competition for itself to be honest.

Competition leads to trying your hardest, leads to frustration if you lose and ego if you win, which inevitably leads to troll/drama/trash-talk, which is all very fun if you ask me (and was one of the things that made my WAR experience the best in any other MMO).. in every other game its the exactly same, especially in a small community like ours. And that is a major problem in this server since we're apparently 10+ rated where you can't say "retarded" without being pm'd about how you're not being educated and breaking the rules, nor can troll or trash-talk people due being scared if said person is a developer or someone who's friends with one or you'll be SS'd and reported, you cannot even corpse jump anymore.
What is funnier, is that proper competitive players acknowledge that most of the trash-talk, fanboyism and troll is actually healthy without any real grudges being held - from my experience my worse enemies and the guys I fought against the most and trash-talked against were the ones to became my best playing buddies whenever we were on the same side or in another game.

But I guess it should be pushed in a form for pug players understand why they're being obliterated in oRvR or scens by a coordinated group or something.. don't know how honestly though - I think the idea that happened sometime ago about pug 6v6s with captains telling what people should spec/do is probably more interesting.

PS: Current melee DoK/WP are completely unbalance if you ask me, due spammability of TE while stacking strength and using tactics such as Divine Fury since it doesn't affect life tap heals (nor is affected by a healing debuff..), I tried a bit past 2 days on my doks and I'm spammming 1.1k group healing every global cooldown, up to 1.6k every global cooldown when I got tactic procs... like I said in the balancing forums, the skill bar was actually lowered to 1 button spam currently, but that's another topic anyway.

I know that small-scale competitive scene is seen as incredibly tryhard and dedicated and that just isn't true. This isn't World of Warcraft, spending hours and hours in-game getting the best gear, crafting a perfect PvP UI and macros doesn't work. Sure some of the people that are good at small-scale spend a lot of time playing, but plenty of them log in a few times a week for a few hours to hang out with friends and run a small group. I wouldn't call that tryhard (unless they run around chasing solo-targets for the sake of meaningles renown, but I digress  ). Hell, this game as a whole is very casual, you really can't take it too seriously.

But the kind of environments described above breed good players, as simply playing in a group and having input/feedback from the people you play with will make you a better player. The skill ceiling isn't crazily high either (depending on the career of course, but nothing like eSport games).

There's no reason not to get into a guild, get friendly with some players and give it a go. You might get stomped at first, especially if your group lacks experience but trust me when I say you will get better fast. And it's not like these "tryhard competitive 2cool4school kids" don't have offdays, or days when they have a shitty comp, or when they get PuG members to fill out the groups. Or when they queue drunk... The point is, they're never unbeatable.

An incentive to queue for 6 man scenarios might just convince more people to try it out, along with having a side-effect of letting PuGs be PuGs in regular scens.

Melee heal dok/wp are just broken in small scale. So it cant be that they aren't imbalanced anymore. Maybe it's because some people can't/don't want adapt to change? Maybe it's because some of the driving players of that community are perm banned? Well doesn't matter in the end.

I ilke the proposal. Even though I have doubts that it will be done. The Devs have stated repeatedly that they consider their part done with introducing 6on6 scenarios.
I don't think there is any need for any kind of rankings. I mean we're talking about ~1k active players. If every fraction has more then 6 or 7 grps that actually play better then PUG level I would be surprised. The grps know each other and if they are honest with themself know where they are ranked.

I partly agree with Cimba.

In my opinion the new kind of meleedok requires 0 (zero) skill since you cant really counter a 0 cd ability which is not a cast, not affected by hd and cant really be blocked or parried. The fact that order doesnt have a decent cd increase makes it even worse.
Apart from that, procs still exist and require even less skill than mdoks.
On top of that there is like a handful of grps left, not even half as many as in t3.

Face it, 6on6 is as dead as smallscale balance.

It is dead, hence the suggestion, i.e. to bring back life to the scene and get new people involved. It will be a huge shame to just let the scene die and go to waste given the potential it has.

Without adjusting the balance, good luck.
