DT is worth 5% effectiveness to each group member (25% in total) plus the extremely valuable increase in triggering of critical effects, and is vastly imbalanced for a passive skill. Even pre-change Encouraged Aim is a less effective tactic (requires PTA!, requires 30ft near enemy, increases only critical hit rate against those enemies but works for attackers out of group on those enemies) and DT's effect on a single Archmage or Shaman, for example, is worth two of their tactics.
This argument has now been repeatedly used and seems to act as a guideline on how to gauge tactics. Is this meta analysis of tactics somewhere available? Because with respect to some really bad tactics I have trouble believing that they provide +10% DPS. On the other hand you have a few tactics that are clearly overperforming.
So I'm curious about where this 10% comes from.

You would have to ask Annaise about that.

Can see this being a nice mid-range AoE DPS build for the Magus: dot, mist, then firestorm ftw. Will be fun to try tbh!

If people are dumb enough to stand on a mist and a tornado, then they deserve to die. Too bad Firestorm damage is awful, even with LOTD it was such a crappy ability (looks cool though).

Haha IKR. The lack of an aoe ele debuff is a factor. But it will be nice fluff damage/situational usage in keep defences for leeching KBs.

also looking cool and being crap is the magus' niche!

Correct. Magus maintains its 140ft maximum range.
Every other change I could understand except of this one. Base range disproportion on classes in the same mirrored archetype is a pretty huge imbalance, even though that through the user feedback engi looked more powerfull then magus.
Although I understand it must te temporary, until further balance between engi and magus occurs.

Exactly what I was thinking, tbh. inb4 order tears. :P

guys i was think to make a post about this, the diseguality of engi/and magus is only on the channeling, magus indigo fire is way worst in damages than the engi focused fire, expt smash cannon thing is that the balance issue you are looking for it resolve around that more or less: make more damages xtick and it tick every sec vs every 2 sec of indigo couple it with a more strong debuff vs some classes due to armor debuff made engi burst a lot more potent. Nerf engi range vs magus one would not solve the problem of the burst i belive but let's try.
