Azarael wrote:Yes, I don't intend to change it. I view the actual effect of a DoT (i.e. how it physically damaged you) to be resolved at strike time, and the ticks represent how that original effect is hurting you over time. If you get struck with a DoT that makes you bleed while an armor debuff is up, you don't bleed less because your armor was repaired. Similarly an existing effect does not get worse because your resistance to it was lowered after you were originally struck.

It should be noted that this affects only damage which is precalculated, i.e. DoT effects. Channeled effects recalculate every tick.
This sounds like a somewhat flawed logic to me. Going by your own example, it's like saying that if you get sick there's no point in boosting your immune system to get better faster. Or vice versa - that a degrading immune system doesn't cause a sickness to get worse.

And in more game-related terms, it sounds like you've made it pointless for Slayer/Choppa to drop rage, if dotted up. Not sure that's the intended effect. I assume that it also means, that Boiling Blood/Word of Pain will hit at full force, if applied before a possible resist debuff (for instance Ignite/Chillwind with tactic) gets removed - even if the resist debuff gets removed before BB/WoP actually ticks?

So how does this work with 3x stacked dots? For Example melee dots. When I have 2 stacks already, then I get some sort of Str Buff or Dmg Multiplier --> Does it recalculate the 2 weaker dots also as stronger dots? Or is now the full x3 dot with 2 weak components and one stronger?

Because this for example would be completely unhandy to refresh "fresh" dots over and over just to play properly...
