backer as well, I only joined in for major Testing, other wise the Alpha quality was so low before I had to distance myself fromt eh project in order to stay optimistic about it.

when it was IT level, itwas pretty amazingly bad. Alpha level had, i would say, about 5 major stages that saw some major changes and quality was raised in general.

At this point I wont look at it what so ever until the Beta is out. But my thoughts are pretty depressing on it in general =(

while I love building stuff and being creative - i just cant imagine that the world will look good in the end. there will be a lot of crappy buildings and stuff which is a huge turn off for me.

Edit: I'm still a backer and really excited what it will be like - even though i dont think it will ever take war's place :ugeek:

Yeah i joined as a backer aswell and tried both IT beta and Alpha and IT looked like DAOC graphic wise, alpha got a bit more up to date. But I dont really know how i feel about the creating your own spells and what not. Im hoping for the building its not like every lot has someones crap ass build, just designated people from guilds and such are able to craft something...Plus whos not going to be building a giant **** castle..Or boob pyrimids haha

well afaik dicks and boobs will be removed by the Gms. :) and i hope only big guilds and alliances have enough resources to build big structures. i dont want to see a frickin huge castle every step i take.

Haha yeah i know they would be but how long till they notice a dickbutt. But yeah i dont wanna have to travel threw castle after castle. And do they get to save their design as a template? Cause if it gets destroyed or whatever having to redo it again would suck. Plus i feel like it could get away from the lore when someone decides to design a star wars or startrek theme building.

I think MJ and his team created a awsome game with WAR, it was very well tought out and designed. To bad it was rushed and released as finished product when the game still needed alot of testing and ballancing. By the end of 2009 the game was finnished imo. And the patch 1.3.6 was the absolute peak of WAR imo. The dev team that took over did a number of things that disrupted the ballance of the game by trying to create closer mirrors.

I have high hopes for CU, The choise of goin with completly different realm expertice gonna create a good dept for RVR. I think they have some pretty inteasting ideas mixing RTS elements with RVR style PVP. Since buildings gonna mather to defenders and straight up punish em if they don't defend it's gonna keep both the realm pride and competative spirit alive. I'm a big fan of folklore so pretty much every realm speak to me. And the evolving map is gonna be really intreasting. Making crafting mather ALOT is something i really like. The thing i'm a bit sceptic about is the skill creating system. This seems really hard to ballance. But we have to wait and see.

MJ is a very tallented game designer and i like that he thinks of the big picture and the game mechanic rather then getting classes perfectly ballanced from the start as this is something that can be fixed over time. WAR had massive ballance issues on release and tons of bugs. But it still ended up being a really great game. I'm pretty confident thay will make another good game with CU

I really want to like this game; It just looks cumbersome and tired already. Sadly, I will wait for a new version of WAR with a modern game engine before I play CU.

I have done my best to stay away from it. From what I've seen so far - I'm fairly unimpressed so I'm not going to play it before it's polished.

Seriously, thought. DAOC 2 and or a form of it would be awesome. I don't understand why they have to over complicate the game like they're doing already.

They did such a good job at designing WAR yet they ruined it by never really implementing or finishing the things they needed to. I'm afraid that Camelot Unchained will be the same. Way to much concentration of castle building and very little on the combat.. Too many things are too many things.

Well heres the other thing, about them releasing a lot of stuff of building. They could be to far behind mechanics of combat to show anything noteworthy and at this point im figuring the backers want to se something polished and solid (sold enough) and the CUBE design is something they bring forth. Im getting worried tho with that aswell. I was hoping to see some legit action by now
