Took me exactly one day and like 2 hours on the next day to get full ruin on my WP. And that was with like 9 duplicates on the last piece.
Yeah was gonna say that... Ruin is redonculously easy to get... litteraly... you can get 1 piece / hour. So even if you play 1h a day... in 1-2 week you have full set. Miles faster then annihilator and mercenary.
It is just boring to do.
And in 2 months, the vast majority of people will still be around RR50... So even if you are 41, it's not like you wouldn't be able to compete...

The first pecie is easy. you need to win gold bag wich is about 1/10 shot asuming there's around 12 players. then it's around 80% to get the peice you need. Then it's around 60% then it's 40% the last peice s 20% chance every 10th time you run the PQ.
1: 10% 150 min if 15 min PQ
2: 8% 187min
3: 6%, 250min
4::4%, 375min
5: 2%, 750min
229 Hours of active playing to get full Ruin.

Or not...
My knight needed Ruin, so I got my buddy slayer to help out. Took 7 PQs to get my full set.
Now, I was frighteningly lucky, and only got 1 duplicate, but honestly... doing anything solo can be a pain. That's what you group up.
Also, duh. There's only a couple PQs working, so farming it can be tedious. Let the other PQs open and the farm time table will alter dramatically. And once Opt-out of gold, and master-loot is working it'll be a piece of cake.
Ofc, it still wont help those wanting to solo a PQ with a WB there...

Yes you were extremly lucky, You won 6 out of 7 possible gold bags and only pulled 1 duplicate?? Thats pretty much astronomical odds if you ask me.

It depends on how many people are present. At least for destro there are 3 hard PQs working, 1 of which (dw) is usually bugged cause of idiots. That's 2 PQs that guarantee a gold bag you can pick from, be in a 3 man group with a tank, dps and healer and you can finish the less populated one and massively increase the odds of getting a bag.

Sounds like you don't play many RNG based games... getting 6 pieces out of 7 bags isn't astronomical. Missing on 95% chance to hit 6 times in a row is astronomical. Go check out Mordheim or Xcom.
A slayer/knight combo with gaurd, OYG and AoA I took top Contribution spot every time, so getting the gold was easy based on how the roll system works for PQs, only getting 1 duplicate isn't astronomical odds brother. You start with a 100% chance to get something you need, then 83%, then 66%, then about 50%. It's only on the last 2 pieces that you actually have "bad" odds to get what you need. less that I had "extreme luck" and more that people are facetious when they say "I farmed for 65 hours literally!".
But, back to my point that was ignored, you are aware how much easier Ruin will be with opt-out, master loot, and every PQ working right?

You forgot to count for the fact that you need roll against others on the board aswell. And you also didn't do this with a healer.
I understand that this will change in the future but it creates a ballance issue in the game atm wich leads to gaps. Wich then might lead to more resets. Healers also have the hardest to both farm renown and medalions as they are 100% dependant on others. While dps and tank actually can do some 1v1 and solo gankin.

Yeah, it's alright.
Of course, you have Weapon Skill on the helm and ~100 wasted points in Intelligence, but if you can get past those irritations, it's still marginally better than 4 pc Devastator/1 pc Ruin. It's better, but not enough to be worth grinding for as long as RNG can stop you from getting it in a timely manner.

So you're just going to refute his claim that it realistically takes that long to get full ruin gear that he backed up with numbers by spewing some anecdotal evidence of you being a luck-god and wishful thinking of the state of the PQ system?
Funny thing about it though is that its still easier to obtain than Annihilator which is only worth having two pieces of.

Nope. I said that it didn't take me that long. And if your intelligent and have a group it wont take you that long either.
Run a 2-3man in that PQ staying close and getting as many tags/kills as you can, dump Morale on any champ/hero and you will end up in the top ranks. Most people are lazy and not doing much.Forming a massive WB is not an efficient way to farm a PQ..
But, the general point is quite clearly this. The arguement with Ruin is that currently the gameplay mechanics are not functioning for it to work properly. Master Loot, Opting out, and Fully Functionig PQs up and down T4 will make ruin take a few hours to farm at max. So chill out. We are in Alpha
Edit: And for the record? My knight was 40/40 in Dev gear for awhile. I had to wait until my buddy and I where both willing to dedicate a few hours to farming it up, and it was actually PK that got me to do it. I was willing to wait until everything was working cause I thought it'd be a waste of time.
