Enjoy the ride
If you say the new sets will make it into the game this fast, well then you obviously know more than I do.Shadowgurke wrote:>devs change something on the server

New RvR sets will definitely come and wearing them will require RR. I would have no issue if the devs said that renown is set to 25% until the new sets come out, but that is not the case. In the initial post it clearly says that the Devs intend to keep the renown at 25% and just increase the Rank at which the malus kicks inHm, I really dont get that..... I mean, the fun of the game isnt see purple numbers, is it? So where is the real difference if you get slow renown or fast as long as there are no new sets around. The only thing you can do with those rp is bying some skills which dont make that much of a difference..... so for what do you want those rp so bad?
The highlighted part of your comment exactly sais that they remove the 25% rr lock for the rr the new sets require, which would be the important renown ramks right. After that there would be no difference if you get the renown rank fast or slow until the next set is released. Then that game starts anew.Shadowgurke wrote:>devs change something on the server

They didnt, as he self stated... they said somewhere the will lift it always up to the new sets RR requirement.Jaycub wrote:where did the devs say the 25% is permanent?
I have to correct you here a bit. There arent better sets out yet, and as far as I understood it, they will lift the rr cap over the rr requirements of the new set, so you can get renown up to the new requirement as soon as the new sets are out.... so you dont loose anything but a few rp, at least in my point of view.Stmichael1989 wrote:I'd have no problem with renown rank being as slow as you want if renown points were all that were at stake here. But we know there are better sets of gear out there, and they're tied to renown rank. While the hardcore renown grinders may be slowed down in their climb, come hell or high water they will get to max rank as soon as humanly possible where they'll have a significant statistical advantage over those of us without the inclination to spend 12 hours a day grinding renown.
If this reduced renown rate persists, it will reward those who grind renown now while the playing field is limited to annihilator level gear and punish those who have not. Picture a scene where some groups of players who grind 12 hours a day are renown rank 70 wearing the newly released warlord set. Meanwhile, the poor bastards who have to fight against them are still wearing annihilator. And to make matters worse, they'll have to suffer through that gear disparity FOUR TIMES AS LONG as they otherwise would have in order to get on an even footing. Meanwhile the no lifers with a clear and unnecessary advantage will be slaughtering them en masse and climbing toward Sovereign.
TL;DR: Slower renown is fine for now, but as soon as new gear comes out we need faster renown, not slower.
I never said that I believe the sets will arrive soon. Or are you saying that the renown reduction cap will be raised before we get to the new sets?saupreusse wrote:[

Can you show me a link to that please?I have to correct you here a bit.
