Sc scoreboards mean less than jack. It is simply counting the DPS that was dealt and the healing that was received. If you are doing 100 damage every 3 seconds to every enemy, and they are being healed the same, you will get some awesome numbers. No kills, or much of any real effect, but good numbers...
Some of the best tanks get less than 20k damage. Cause they don't care about damage, they are detaunting, CCing, interrupting, gaurding, etc.
You can use the SC score boards for some stuff, but they are not gospel.

To a large extent ^ this
Download dascore addon (if you are interested) and you can see who you damaged and healed, who damaged you and how much was mitigated in both directions

Re: too much dmg
Any tank that can maintain a guard without being overly squishy should never make top dps. Currently Sm and Blorcs can do this due to their dps procs. With a good assist these tanks will have their damage carried through the roof.boog wrote:Grobbok wrote:if you feel that all is ok, so be it
but for me it is strange that tank with shield is top dmg
So because they are a tank they aren't allowed to be top DPS? What if all the other DPS in the SC either sucked or were under geared? What if the tank has a lot of AoE? Chosen and KBOB can have HUGE DMG numbers by running their DMG auras but those numbers are purely fluff.
Your reasoning doesn't make any sense.
Tanks do to much DMG now because some tanks that I saw were top DPS. That is like saying MDPS doesn't do enough DMG now because some MDPS that I saw were not top DPS.

Re: too much dmg
If you see a BO above his dps within the chart it has nothing much to do with Skull Thumper but more likely with the AoE included and the higher combat uptime.Toldavf wrote:Currently Sm and Blorcs can do this due to their dps procs. SM on the other hand doesn't deal much AoE damage hence why he can't keep up with his dps unless they are bad.
yesterday i saw PeterTheDuelist on his Magus winning a 1vs1 against an 2h IB during the event in CW. Hence why i vote YES!Telen wrote:so nerf magus?

Oi...that IB (Volgo) is up there with gummy in terms of bawsness. Magus does, however, need an overall damage nerf of 70% regardless.

I hate being a smartass but this is the key problem with the scoreboard (sorry for picking your post, I know you know it betterDabbart wrote:Sc scoreboards mean less than jack. It is simply counting the DPS that was dealt and the healing that was received.

Scenario boards are largely meaningless. They are a guide for how efficient you are at dealing damage, but that doesn't translate into how effective you are.
I can log my DPS AM and toss out a lot of DOTs on anyone whilst AP draining them so I can keep doing that ad infinitum. It pushes up my damage numbers nicely and makes me feel warm and fuzzy about myself. However, in most instances (unless you play against baldy healed PUGs) those numbers will be just fluff damage, although I am highly efficient at dealing it.
Then I can log my WL and play him as a pure single target burst class. At the end of the scenario I may have gotten less overall damage, but I will have bursted down various players and put the opposing team on a Rez chain and thus on the back foot. Death blows matter more to me. I may be less efficient at dealing overall damage, but more effective on how I apply it and what the outcome is.
Scenario boards don't show the intricacies of what it means to be effective. In fact, often it pushes people towards an ineffective play-style: one where they push out fluff damage to get top of the leader board.

Re: too much dmg
Reasons why tank "can" do higher dmg in SC (chart)
1) Tank has AP regen and everyone of them used it. Almost all mdps either don't spec or don't have it altogether
2) Tank use defensive skill at low health and continue to do dmg
MDPS run to the back and wait for heal. (Not saying it is wrong, it is what they all do)
SM has spammable AOE skill as well.

SM deal more AOE dmg than BO since SM proc do higher spirit dmg than BO. (BO proc is DD , SM is dots)Bretin wrote: SM on the other hand doesn't deal much AoE damage hence why he can't keep up with his dps unless they are bad.
