I don't like the idea of having predetermined areas just for the sake of dueling because of the idea of farming duelists. I set up Duel Events for that exact reason, Magicthighs voluntarily comes to attend and watch (sucks that you don't duel hurry and level you're AM xD jk don't ban me). Duels are a part of the game hence why there is an option to duel you're own faction (e.g. Chosen vs BO).

I am also brainstorming about how i will set up the Dueling Tournaments where prizes can be won and i will make a thread for it so everyone in the dueling community can have a say in it.

I think dueling is a great way to develop tactics for solo roaming (or roaming in general) when you run into a few opponents and beat them (which i have done today 1v3). If you have players that can solo wreck a few Order/Destro all at the same time, then imagine those players in a coordinating 6-man. That's how i see it benefiting at least.

Some of the best players are solo players in any MMO. Rare, I will admit.

Edit: If there was a open cross realm chat, which i doubt will ever happen, for finding duels (or fights regarding 2v2 and such), it'd make it safer and a lot easier for a 24/7 fight club. But again, i don't want it being abused a therefore honest duelists being abused as well.

i agree with having no renown reward for the dueling events, it could be coded that t4 areas once locked grant no renown for kills, this would stop dueling for farming renown, and give less incentive for troublemakers to come break it up.

I never did the dueling on live, but wouldnt mind giving it a go if it becomes a regular thing, always good to learn what other classes can do, in larger scale its not always clear who is doing what

So because a few bad apples will farm duel each other, everyone else should be penalized for dueling?

So you've never done it, but you want to stop the "dueling farming" that doesn't exist? No. You don't PL via duels, for a few reasons.

1, A lot of those who duel do so with their capped toons. To not do so puts you at a serious disadvantage, since you will be fighting those that are.

2, Alot of those that duel are well geared for the same reason above

3, People who duel wont let you kill them. It's a duel.

4, By and large, you will duel once, and depending have a rematch or 2 and that'll be it. Over 2 hours of dueling last sat, I got less than 20 kills, and I was doing very well(for my WH at least), so probably died about the same. You get more XP/RR from a keep defense, and as for the "un-sanctioned" duels I spent more time chatting than fighting at the last impromptu Duel I was at.

So i see no reason they would be upset for the removal of the renown from duels

I do not recall complaining about it, i merely pointed out that i agreed with a previous statement that no renown should be granted for duels and how it could be done.
I do not really care if that was done or not, but it would probably involve less manpower long-term to code that, than policing for kill-traders in all the new t4 areas, which despite your claim that it does not exist, clearly does if you have seen people banned for it often.

... RR40 wont be the cap forever. No need to remove RR/XP from duels. Or even from locked zones. If people want to go have a 6v6 battle or what-not, why the hell shouldn't they get rewards for fighting?

I said Duel Farming doesn't happen. not kill trading. Kill trading does happen obviously. But here's the thing, you don't have to be in an ORvR zone to do it. Or even in t4. Last I checked debolstering still gave the one to kill you a massive xp/RR benefit.

Your change would do nothing to hamper those that want to Cheat. And since you have never Dueled, I suggest you go do it. And then you can laugh at the ridiculousness of your wanted change.
