Yeah this is very true... with a DPS DoK you REALLY need to have guard on you and be prepared to get tons of crap from everyone who dies next to you blaming you for not healing them... Thats the dangers of a hybrid heal class.

As a mara, you get to blame everyone else. For not healing, for not guarding etc etc.

Mara SHOULD have a guard, but they actually can get pretty tanky themselves, they do really amazing burst damage and are 100% in the "META" of BIS 6 man groups.

You get a Tank, Mara, Healer together and that 3 man can BRING DA PAIN!

A DoK can fit into an awesome melee group, but usually requires guard to stay alive....

Play Melee DoK if you like, I would probably recommend Mara though. Especially in solo play as melee DoK can be frustrating as a hybrid..... Great for solo PVE, not so great solo PVP and CAN be ok in group PVP.

Mara is good in PVE, great in solo PVP and great in group PVP.

Melee DoK vs Mara really depends on group composition and what you want to do with it.
