I dunno if he was a real dps zealot but i met a aggressive zealot already a couple of times.
Subpar damage but cool animations and still good healing capabilities. He was a funny kiter/ccer mostly xD
A hybrid is neither a dps, a tank or a healer imo but a hybrid literally so imo it should count as both, like a jolly.

Each class would have a greyed out choice for the role they can't actually fill mechanically.

That being said, I could see Shamans being allowed to do this, they are hard to kill

not only are dps healers the most disliked class/archtype of the game since pretty much forever, zealot isnt all that effective at it

i play a dps am, pretty much always on the high end of the dmg chart for dmg done and deathblows, ofc beaten by a decent portion of slayers and bw's, as things should be, and i catch a very decent amount of flak for it, altho not as much as i used to back on live...

i can easily imagine rp/zealot being hated for it even more tho. u can prolly pad some numbers up with aoe, but u wont have all that many kb's, that class lacks the single target and any kind of burst to do it properly. as things are atm, for ranged dps healer id recomend shaman or am, am being the best for ranged healdps

What happens if you don't play DPS Zealot?

You can play something else, or you can play your healer the way everyone expects you to. Ultimately, you won't be doing what you want to do. There's no experimentation or anything, as everything is all laid out and away you go. Will/Wounds, Deva set, done and done. If you don't fall asleep at your keyboard, you might manage to grind it all.

What happens if you do play DPS Zealot?

You will be doing what you want to do, because it's what you want to do, you'll take an interest in maximizing your stats/playstyle to help see what you want succeed. People are going to **** on you in chat, to try and shame you into doing what they want you to do.

"OMG, your dps so bad, what a waste, you useless, not worth a guard, play a real DPS" and on and on. As if a DPS Healer will be 100% DPS 24/7 (mechanics and combat do not allow). At least a 2H Tank just has to hit Guard and not die, they were never a priority target in the first place.

Tell them to suck it, and continue to satisfy your will.

Their will is not your will, there is no need to satisfy it to your own will's detriment.

Most of the people that complain will be doing it while they are being farmed in the street so far away from the flag that they lose the SC anyway. The Joker did not ask for Gotham PD's permission to be a killer clown, neither should you.

How much would I be hated, shunned and yelled at for doing DPS/Hybrid Zealot?

I really want to do Transference playstyle, a ranged version of Grace/Dok equivalent in theory.

Does it not work at all? Is it a T3 gear/level cap thing holding it back and will be better in T4?

Is it broken no matter how many RR and gear they add?

What about full DPS in Alchemy with T3 gear? Still junk? T4 gear/RR save it?


For the record I don't do DPS right now in SC's etc, I make sure to switch Harbinger off for that and chuck out the purple graphics on everyone.

For perspective, you don't do anything to them in heal spec either, so...

Just think, your deathblows will be that much more delicious. Anyone you kill, once people know your name, should feel that much more awful that they died at your hands. Tell them to SYD, and carry on. Godspeed.
