Using the search function you can find out where people are located, you can learn alot of information by doing a quick search and seeing where certain players are located. I prefer to not give away my position on certain characters, while I care less on others.

I disagree with the function to be honest with the game still in a bugged state as it is it might be open to abuse.

I recall certain players using a 2 handed axe as a single handed weapon for instance an inability to inspect a play probably wont propagate this sort of behaviour but it certainly makes it harder to detect.

Back when campaign mattered it was mandatory in most guilds (that played for the campaign at least) to prevent spies using search to see which zone the different wbs was in.
