I'm a little confused here. What is the current implementation of those Defense Checks?
Those formulas are new to me, I thought we were using those.

I might be dead wrong, but i thought i read somewhere that Aza didn't want offensive stats to count towards defensive stat penetration because it was too easy to max cap it?

On RoR, the offensive base stat only counters the defensive base stat. Other sources of defense are mitigated by strikethroughs.

Can you elaborate on what you mean with base stat? Stats that don't come from items or Renown? Intelligence opposes Willpower.
Strikethrough opposes both Disrupt% and the result of the above.

also, does that mean the formula that Genis posted doesn't apply?

Strikethrough works on base stats.
The rationale for this is that stacking your offensive stat grants both damage AND chance to defeat defenses, yet the defense version is split between two stats (Toughness and either Weapon Skill, Initiative or Willpower). Base defense against a given stat can be low enough that the free strikethrough the attacker is getting for stacking Strength can actually defeat a lot of renown spec defenses, which isnt' right.

realistically speaking, how much initiative/willpower/WS is needed to negate the defense penetration from ballistic/int/str if the attacker is softcapped?
Edit: Negate is probbaly a bad word. Assuming every point up to a certain amount is wasted because it gets ignored by str/int/ball, at which point do I get a defensive benefit form WP/WS/Init?
