I think that was the point of that post, really. A new player wouldn't know this kind of thing. Or the many small things that get asked on /advice all the time, the exact same questions, because there's no way a new player would know them. Sure, people can ask on /advice (if they are aware that the issue exists in the first place), but some kind of guide on the forums for people who bother to check what goes on here before playing would be useful.
