AOE wounds debuff requires 2hander, auras is the class mechanic, same for kotbs and chosen, 3sec stagger is the same for kotbs and chosen and is a crappy free mass imunity giveaway.
What next?
Also, do you know that unlike ib bo or bg, kotbs and chosens can't debuff armor?

If you are directing this at me I was comparing chosen to blorc. And auras may be a class mechanic but its a far to superior to that of the other tanks in its benefits to the group and the aoe debuffs they place on their targets which include resists, toughness and strength. All for 0 ap and 0 gcds.

Auras cannot be purged/cleansed and have 100% uptime as well. And their values are usually in line with virtually every other debuff even single target ones (and thus makes them moot because nothing stacks).

Interested in why Bretin thinks BO/SM is greater, is it the stat steal > auras? Also knight/Chosen have the best punts in the game with the tactic, which are essential to removing guard.

I see it as "chosen's/kotbs have 1 tactic slot less than other tanks because super punt tactic is mandatory"
You are right, auras don't stack with anything and requre kotbs/chosen to stay pretty close to his group.
You really want to remove auras from the aura-based class? Really? Or nerf them to the ground so no one will be using them because there are plenty of stronger buffs, which, even if removed, require 1 gcd to put them back?

fixed it for you.
You're the only person of any intelligence I have ever heard say this. I just don't see how an init debuff is better than CS, auras, aoe wounds debuff, and stagger
Armour debuff, WS buff, Initive debuff, CD increaser. Thats the reason you run BO.
Whispering Winds, Ressist debuff thast the reason you run SM.

I see it as "at least chosen/kotbs have a tactic that gives them a long distance ST punt, unlike BO and SM".

Ok I'll take you point by points. Auras>armor debuff+ws buff for the overall group. You're forgetting they buff everyone not just one target. Wounds debuff is on par with init debuff, CS is way better than the CD increaser as it can be applied to multiple targets. And that doesn't even bring into the picture the Chosens overall better CC.

As to SM, kotbs can debuff resists too. And whispering winds is very situational. While dirty tricks, focused mending, EA, are all just straight buffs to the group that are up almost 100% of the time.

also armor debuff on bo is not as strong as debuff on bg

Why doest KotBS even get Runefang? It's not like a random knight could get his hands on the precious ancient artefact weapon, that is only given to Elector Counts of the Empire? It's like only ~10 of them in the Old World.
I think it's like a trial version of the artifact for 10 sec. Just imagine if they had this tactic proc permanently.

appart from cripple strike being good or not, it's not an optimal set up for aoe wb. It's good for sc not wb size fight.

You spent too much points rank up 1 mastery just for cripple strike and ap aura and you not get stag, nor an armor buff and a damage reduction. Try stay inside in the front lines where the aoe hit hard then tell me if this stuff is need or not.

Chosen can't have all his jiggle and also have them update 100% of the time which is what kobs can do and it will in every party set up.

BG have no aoe tools appart from the aoe snare which BO can unlock via tactic and it can spam it to also additionaly spam stats steals.

Best destru set up for wb is CH+BO. The only unique tools BG can provide that cannot be done by any other classes is ST 5 sec KD and a crit chance reduction.
All of this must be apply ST while kobs buff are all AOE/group passive. Furthermore BG debuff and kD require high ammount of hate and so 70% of the time kobs buff are still higer than your debuff.

BG it's not worth in wb set up. Which is totally different for sc.

We can argument about the tactic's aura requirement, which make chosen bring 2 utility auras while kobs get none. But considering regen aura also regen ap on KOBS  ...... It goes down to chose 1 tactic or 1 utility auras. IT also depend what you run as second party. Mostly would be an IB cos it have again other crit buff/parry buff /wep skill buff which is insanly good to buff those slayers. SM would be good in a bomb wb but destru wb just ingore 60% of the aoe damage you throw at them, and this with out count the hold the line buff from 3 tanks or the channeling.
