i agree to stop the x realming if/when its possible.
1 . for the health of game and realm pride specially important for king instance later on.
2 . also for the health of rvr nobody even defends or fight its more o that side wins iam there.
3 . u get more organized then.

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
Besides unlike the t4, here it takes literally 3-4 straight days at best to minmax 32/40 from scratch, so xrealmers gona xrealm.

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
This topic has been discussed many times before. The only interesting anti-xrealm measure I remember was when someone suggested to reward sticking to a realm rather than trying to prevent people from switching (which won't work). There are many ways to do this, for example an AAO-like mechanism that gives better kill/support/capture rewards the more time you spend playing the same character or the same side of the same tier at least. Or something similar to the rested XP that builds over time, but is lost when you switch to the other realm.
Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
This is great idea. Rewarding for playing longer on one side is much more encouraging than penalizing for swapping sides.bwdaWAR wrote:This topic has been discussed many times before. Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
What about when its not crossrealming? Just because your side disappears after one zone that means nothing. People could have gone to bed. They could go to do pve or low tiers. A wb could bug and people wouldnt bother reforming. The zerg leader could leave and people would lose direction and log off. They could all be afk in the wc waiting for a keep to be ready to take, some pugs love avoiding rvr if a keep isnt <5 mins from being taken (and spoiler alert, forcing them to stay on one side WOULD NOT get them to defend keeps or participate in rvr, they would just afk in wc's more often)Gachimuchi wrote:How to fix crossrealming(mostly):
1. Instate rules that you can only have one account per IP, ban multi-accounters
2. Set a lockout time for when you log on an order/destruction character there is a wait time before you can log your characters from the opposite realm.
Now warbands won't dissapear from one side and reappear on another side at the drop of a hat.
I don't see why the devs couldn't implement something similar, hell even on live they had a 24 hour lockout for characters on opposite realm. They'll probably get around to it when the game is more finished, but either way, its required for an increase in quality of the RvR.
It could be crossrealming, and it probably is a good amount of the time. but what if its one of those other things happening? And what about the people who WANT to be the underdogs, and are stuck on the zerging side after one of the above happens? I guess they should just log off then, right? Even if those people are only 10% of the population, youre still screwing over 100 people at peak hours.
Crossrealming is a thing, sure. Fixing it without creating new problems and screwing over a ton of people is not that easy or it would have been done already.

This is the only way x-realming can be fought, imho.vove wrote:This is great idea. I made two suggestions regarding this, here is the first one:
http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... 226#p68504
I cant find the second one, but it went something like this: For the first 20 minutes you spend on a character, you have a -25% penalty to renown/xp/inf. After 20 minutes it goes to 0, after another 20 minutes it goes to + 15%, and so and so, until you get like a +100% bonus after idk, 2-3 hours in the same realm.
The penalty on the first 20 minutes is so people don't switch to the other side just for zone flips.

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
I think sporadic changes in AAO can mostly be to blame due to the fact that;
1. People give up after losing a long and brutal battle, generally they log out/queue for scenarios/go do something else in-game, then
2. Warbands fall apart, nobody is interested in the action anymore, so very few players go to the next contested zone where the other side if already running rampant for the next keep take
3. Some of these people will relog to the 'winning' side to level an alt/ride the zerg.
I wouldn't say all those who give up are crossrealmers; the 90% estimate of relogging for a free ride is heavily exaggerated. I'd say it's around 40%.
