Not even those imo. Can't control if you're behind your screen or not. People afk all day and farm in the meantime. Nice image for the future of the game. Next we get multiboxing? Speedhacks?

Allowing this opens the door to more misery in the future.
I am already duo-boxing for the sake of powerleveling. c:

Awwwwwh, that's adorable. Playfully pecking each other's lips before beating each other senseless for the sake of competition. :D

You are incorrect. While allowing it at present time more people will be doing it and and will continue doing so after launch. Creating a gaming envirement were botting is not frowned upon is the first step of ther end. Hell, why even play at the keyboard while you can AFK at work, or AFK groups that hug certain spawns so no one else can get it. It happened and will happen again.

Active players, not active bots.

Ps: I imagine a dark robed figure on a dragon swooping down taking the bot in its claws and dropping them in an iron cage in the capitol city! Seen that happen before in a game called Roma Victor. Fellow got nailed to the cross. We could put people in metal cages so they can log in but can't do anything but being laughed at.

I don't believe this is an issue yet. If someone uses a bot in the alpha to farm gear that's of questionable value, who cares right now? There's no spam in the chat and it doesn't affect anyone else if they choose to waste their processing time. No different to using the Ironbreaker in my opinion.

The point that's being made here is that botting should be discouraged now to prevent escalation and acceptance of it later on. We know it's in alpha state and that it may not affect the game right now, but it will affect us in the future if we don't start with the prevention of it.

As for what's been mentioned before; place botting characters in cages and strip all their teleport/movement abilities. Maybe for a week or so, as a warning. With a clear text message upon every time they log in to check how many days are left.
By the way; I'm not saying this extra feature should be implemented as of now, but maybe in the future, when we have to strongly punish exploiters and gamebreakers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but botting is a product of the current state of the game, right? I'm all for establishing ground rules early to prevent problems later on, as should be obvious from my posts, but if PQs, AH, instances etc were working, surely it would be pointless to bot?

Should I be wrong, I'd happily agree that rules should be created early.
