Re: Shadow Sting; The controversy

Let's get back on topic; lets talk about why everyone complains SS is OP but somehow it's fixed if it's 9 points into the skirmish tree.

I know we're not really balancing abilities until we have experience with late T4 but making this ability inaccessible isn't really a fix. Sw has never done the most burst damage (sorc/bw), the best kiting (shaman) or the most utility (am, shaman, engi, magus to name just a few)

The SW deserves to have this ability because they don't really have much else to bring to a group. One AP regen that's trumped by Rune of Fury, a single target knockdown on a 20s timer and one melee disarm on a 30s timer and a melee knockdown at the back of the assault tree and Leading Shots.

I'm not saying the SW is gimp, it just feels unimportant without SS.
I'm far from the best SW out there but I know we all feel that moving SS isn't a fair way to fix it.

Id rather just discuss possible ways to make it fair.

Most incoming heal debuffs in the game require 9 points... I doubt this makes SWs gimp all of a sudden. Take note that SWs do good damage and have a 3s range knockdown. If you're talking about group play, they bring more than what SH can bring. :/

I specifically mentioned that this move doesn't make SWs gimp XD

Honestly its a matter of class identity. I don't feel that moving shadow sting is a fair "fix" for this ability if everyone agrees its out of alignment with fair play

If you want mirrored classes etc etc etc

I don't think what SH's tree looks like is relevant
In live, SS was a 6 point talent
It wasn't OP enough to make SW OP then, it shouldn't be considered so now.
I'll live if it absolutely must be 9 points but I believe it shouldn't be.

I'm willing to let it die until T4 but I think it needs to stay up for consideration to move it back to its original place.

Arguably, the fact that one class has easier access to a certain buff or debuff compared to others is a good selling point for it. Anything to make SWs more desirable in groups sounds like a good thing.

So I don't get it is specing into skirmish that heavily bad for shadow warrior it doesn't seem to be quiet the opposite in fact as it increase the debuff on eye shot and the damage on both broad head and spiral fletched arrows.

Just doesn't seem like it would be a problem.. Unless you wanted to play fester bomb build with a heal debuff backing it up.

If that's the only reason your asking for this change shame on you for power gaming :D

Saying SH and SW are Mirror Classes is a little off...yes they are both ranged DPS but they are quite different and have many different mechanics. it Personally doesn't bother me if SS is 6 points. Most people use to switch stances any ways to use SS and switch back to Scout

obviously you never played a SH.
They have all of the above SW abilities AND a 110 foot range compared to sw 85 foot AND continious burst damage from spike squig that is way too OP.

So .... tell me again why SW needs a nerf?

EDIT: WE heal debuff is 6 pt as are others as well, not 9
