If someone did a 2k-4k texture overhaul and found a way to increase the draw distance the game could look really good.

Increasing the smooth animation distance would be nice as well - when players/effects/etc get a certain distance away from you the game stops smoothing out the animations and they go all jittery. Watch a Witch Elf run in the distance for a hilarious example of this.

This was always one of my only beefs w/WAR live; the lousy lo-res tex's, especially on my WE and sorc.
Even older games had higher tex's w/a slider for going to lower tex's and lower polycount meshes, especially for mass pvp (L2 did this right, while AoC sometimes actually ran worse on lower settings due to the wierd way their engine worked).

Hi guys! I have a really annoying problem with texture shimmering on the ground and generally all around the game. It's killing my eyes when I'm walking forward on my way. I've tried everything in the Nvidia control panel such as all antialiasing and anisotropic filtering change/off, doesn't matter at all. Is there any solution in an upcoming texture pack for that?
Thank you for help.

Hey!
So far we havent even a real group that works on the texturepack so we are at -0% right now

But to help you:
Am i right that the flickering is the strongest on the ground texture in Altdorf?
This cant be changed by changing or updating textures because its not the fault of the texture files .
This flickering is caused by bad/ non existing anistropic filtering (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anisotropic_filtering ).
So... what can you do if it hurts your eyes?
hmmm.... I tested some things out for you but nothing really seems to work.
you can force anisotropic filtering in your graphics card control panel, but that wont change much ( yes thats sad)
The only thing that really works is using Nvidia DSR or AMD VSR. (dynamic super resolution and virtual super resolution)
Most of the newer graphics cards have this option, and what it does is scaling the textures up to a higher resolution and then press them down ( sry i forgot the english word) to the original resolution again.
The bad flickering will then be gone but it only works for newer graphics cards and is very consuming.
I use this on my gigabyte gtx 970 and the game runs fine on 100fps.
What I also reccomend is not using any other graphical enhancements together with DSR/VSR.
On windows 10 you have to run the game with windows 7 settings (right click war.exe ->compability)
otherwise it will tend to crash more often while using DSR.
Hope this helps you!
Here is a quick video that will show the difference (watch on FULLHD and fullscreen)

I really appreciate your reply and help but sadly is not the solution for that. I am in Nordland and the ground still being the same after the change what you suggested to me (I've found that DSR Factors and Smoothness settings on the control panel of Nvidia -tried all options within that, also combinate with other AA settings). There is a wheat field when I'm walking down from the hill and it looks like white noise on TV screens from the distance. I still have horizontal flickering tears all over the ground, but not on objects. It looks hopeless what I am really sorry because huge fan of the game but cannot play with that graphical issue. Simply just too ugly and brakes the atmosphere of the environment. If you hear anybody have the solution pls let me know.
Thank you again.

hmm yeah i know exactly what you mean. the flickering on the fields was ugly as hell.
I run the game with a 1920x1080 144 HZ monitor and 4times DSR (3840x2160).
I turned off AA and Anisotropic filtering.
DSR Smoothness is set to around 15% and be sure to use fullscreen and to enable it ingame

are you sure you didnt forget to enable the super resolution ingame?(yeah that happened to me at first)
(options -> video -> resolution -> 3840x2160 -> tick the use fulscreen box).
The DSR on 4K settings completely removed the flickering effect...
greetings!
