Old player, new problem

I could not connect during covid lockdown for reasons.

Last week I tried to connect, the launcher (with a red update button) make an update and then tell me:

Code: Select all

Error Downloading updater:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Accesso negato
   in System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
   in System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()
   in RoRLauncher.MainWindow.nCmjMrtj6fJ6UG8k0R4(Object )
   in RoRLauncher.MainWindow.frUNlTd9PQ(Object , DownloadDataCompletedEventArgs )
(In the above Accesso negato is Denied access)

Notes:
No change in my system from the previous time I played (the pc was shut)
I was already using the 64 bit, in fact under settings 64 bit Client Version is still flagged.

I tried to:

1. Run as admin
2. Turn off the Kasperky (where ror was whitelisted since a long time ago)
3. Re download the launcher only (and since I can't find the link I used the torrent)
4. Join the beta program
5. Wait some days (which usually solves most problems, but strangely did not)

There is any not too complicate solution, like kicking the pc or downloading a file or two?

Make sure your files aren't Read-Only.

Been there, done that.

I believe the ruinous powers are behind my issue.
