questions about guard from chosen and various other abilities
so in return of reckoning the chosen has this ability that halves all damage to the one being attacked, and the chosen takes the damage that is blocked. for example party member 1 gets hit for 400 damage, the actual result will be 200 damage for the party member and 200 for the chosen. i am curious about two things however, the first being can this sort of thing be completely absorbed and second, can two chosen do this on each other? or even worse yet, can two chosen guard the same person?

Re: questions about guard from chosen and various other abilities
You can "avoid" guard damage (Block, parry), two tank's can cross guard each other and you can have more than one guard on a player, but only one will work at a time, until that one moves out of 30feet range and the other tank that is within 30feet will "take over".

You can block and parry guard dmg, so the incoming damage is nullified, if an absorbeffect is on you ofc this will get used.
Yes, 2 tanks can guard each other, that's the definition of cross guard / xguard. This guard setup will make you very resistant to damage.
Two tanks can guard the same person however the guard first applied will redirect the damage as long you are in range. If you get punted away from your guard target the other tank is gonna continue guarding. So they don't stack if that's what you are asking for. On average that's a very poor setup which can get punished but also sometimes it's necessary.
Just for clarification: all tanks have the guard ability. On destruction: chosen, blackguard, black ork; on order: knight of the blazing sun, sword master, iron breaker. So every race has a tank with access to the guard ability.
(my state of information, can be wrong)
