Out of curiosity why do you guys want pounce to have a snare?

WL alread has 2 snares ad one of them is a single target perma snare from the pet.

The pounce landing behind the target is a server latency issue that all classes on their abilities and stuff have to contend with

It's not a latency issue.

The packet used for this is F_CATAPULT, which launches the player torwards a fixed endpoint.

The optimal implementation of Pounce adjusts its aim while airborne so that the WL lands near the target. This is not possible, as F_CATAPULT sent again while airborne will cause an additional jump to appear.

The second possible improvement would be predicting the landing location. This is a) impossible to implement without extensive raytracing / position prediction which we don't have yet and b) vulnerable to juking, in which a player feints to throw off the prediction.

I know. There's a reason all good implementations of a jump to target ability root the target temporarily. Bloodline Champions' Spearmaster had a Javelin which did exactly the same thing, too.

But would that root ignore immunities? Or give away immunity? Mursie's suggestion for Pounce is a 10 sec CD + a 1 (or 2?) sec root on the target. If the target is immune, then 10 secs CD might be too much.

Maybe a 1-2 secs snare would be better? Something like 60% snare?

@Penril: I'm a proponent of having effects ignore immunity where it is reasonable to do so.

@bloodi: Ah man. Moon Stone alone was such an excellent noob punisher. Could be adapted as a zerg punisher as well, in different form. It's a real pity that trance abilities don't really work in MMOs without free aim, though.
