why 880?
Re: why 880?
We could also bring up the argument of people in NA timezones not having as many people to kill in oRvR, and being that we can't up-convert our old medallions and the new 50/50/50 kill quest doesn't give medallions, it's going to be tough for us to get new gear.

This is not exactly true.
Im sure there is no exact answer to this, but im sure there are a number of factors that keep this from being true.
Example: North American Queue Pops are far and few between each other. This time changes when solo queuing vs group queuing, full or partial as well. Roll the dice on the level of quality of the players you get with you, another dice roll on whether you have a healer or not (and these are modified even further depending on destro / order).
These and a bag of chips = Not everyone can gain same Token for Same Time spent, not impossible, but far from what a Prime Time Player in a quality Guild could achieve.

Ok, so people that don'T like quest should be able to buy Epic quest proc weapon with Warcrest too ? And dungeon gear too ?Bingbing wrote:Some people don't like sc's. It's as simple as that. If you dont like them yet you have to do that many to get the weapon then these people will never get it. Maybe a return to war crests is what Grobbok is looking for?
Cause i don't like doing that xD
Seriously, Devs are doing a great job letting us get good gear any way we want : PvE, scenarios, RvR... All 3 provide a set of weapons AND a set of armor that are of comparable goodness.
So if you just wanna RvR, get the medallions/influence gear. Just PvE ? Ruin and Epic quest. Scenarios ? Emblems gear.
But if you wanna min/max and get some precise weapons and armor piece... just do what you gotta do and grind it out.
TL/DR - War crest would be bad. They were good on live when a lot of people wanted RR90-100 weapons and there were no scenarios at all cause the game was half-dead.

Re: why 880?
Let me phrase it differently - The factors that extend the amount of time required to buy the weapons for North Americans, are the same factors that extend the time required for "casual players" who don't play as often. When I say the time required is the same, I mean the time spent in scenarios. A scenario always gives 6 emblems, and a scenario never takes more than 15 minutes. If you aren't in a scenario as often as you could be, there is an outside cause, and the solution is not to change prices.StormX2 wrote:Genisaurus wrote:cost the same amount of time invested for every player.Grobbok wrote:I enjoy playing this game on rvr, but not farming scenarios

The solution to Grobbok not getting emblems as quickly overall because he plays few hours, is to play more hours. The solution to North Americans not getting emblems as quickly overall because their are fewer actual scenarios popping, is to get more scenarios (i.e. get more NA players). In either case, you can't change the emblem pricing dynamically or in some way that wouldn't devalue the time investment for the majority of players, who do not suffer these issues.
If you appeal to the lowest common denominator time-wise, well, there's always going to be someone with less time to play than you. In the end, you give everyone everything for nothing at all. It would be hypocritical to make an argument to the contrary - to say, "Well, X person should just be able to play more if they want the rewards I can get," but not accept when the argument is made against you.
tl;dr: 880 emblems / 6 per win * 15 min per win = ~36.6 hours of victories for everyone. If the time between scenarios is longer for some people than others, that is not a problem that has anything to do with pricing.

Re: why 880?
I'm not personally quite fond of prices of scenario gear, mostly due how random the amount can be gained per hour due to how some teams seem to get steam rolled, and it isn't as fun or rewarding for the side what gets steam rolled, but then again, there must be clear reward for winners.
It is rather tricky thing really, only thing what I could quickly think of to fix issues I have seen, would be increasing the reward people get, even when losing, to motivate them to stay in, and try to continue the fight, and in return, increase the reward for the winning side.
I personally don't care for scenario, but age old tradition seems to be that only useful weaponry for zealot is either from SC, or expensive rare drop, so I could be bit biased on that regard, but that's unrelated to this.

Like awarding Emblems for Scenario score?Fashri wrote:

That could be potentially ideal method, but I doubt there is anything in built mechanism what allows for easy hooks for data to be used for this purpose.Shadowgurke wrote:

And on that it could be potentially dangerous since it could promote farming high scores rather than contributing the scenario victory.
Although if scenario score just brings in few extra emblems to standard reward, that might be good motivator to contribute.
Again, not sure how easy something like this would be, or would it even be worth the time.
Re: why 880?
It is already in place, you get 1 emblem for every 100 points in a scenario.
