Don't finish quests with more than one reward

IF there are 4 rewards, picking the first one will award you both the 1st and 2nd one, third one will become the fourth and the fourth nothing. So my quess is picking the second will give you the third alternative.

I tried yesterday a quest with four alternatives and I took the second. And I got the second.

Does Quest sharing works? So that you can get it another time and try again?
