Yeah in simple words army in Turkey was always on guard if we talking about secular country, keeping space between religion and politics. President Erdogan see it in different way. He likes when religion is at first place. So army saying no. And this is why we have this mess. Hope army will clean it.

heard erdogan's plan is landing in istanbul and that the military soldiers are surrendering

it seems like the coup failed

It will be a while before we really know who is in control, I doubt the military would lose to security forces. You also have the kurds who will likely make a move. Syria and Israel, maybe Russia have a stake in the military succeeding as well.

Also everyone taking part in the takeover is going to fight to the death, literally no point in surrounding since it's almost guaranteed a fate worse than death if surrender and lose.

Yeah lets keep this easy, first coup soldier were saying we took control now president soldiers. Old good propaganda from both sides, we will see more at morning

Hear hear Jaycub smart thing you saying but no worries other countries dont go for anything. As Turkey goverment was elected in democratick way, they dont have choice like support turkey goverment. Democration support democration even if we dont belive in that.

Hotrailz around half of ppl in Turkey support Erdogan. Sadly its gona be a bloodshed

They have to officially support him, doesn't stop say Russia from covertly arming kurds or Israel from giving the military intel.

Take the USA for example, how many coup's has the CIA funded at this point?

Yeah Jaycub you right but there is difference when you organize coup in south america (yeah you good at that) and coup in Europe. So lets say that coup was organise by someone. Who? USA or Russians? USA? Its the strogest NATO member little not stable, what point in making it even more unstable? Russia? Well they just shot at our plain killed our pilot. Still is this enough?
