Fury of Da Green heal AoE working correctly?

ATM if you have a defensive target other than yourself Fury of Da Green (and I assume AM mirror) will heal in an AoE around that target when the spell does damage as it should. However if you only have yourself targeted defensively then no AoE healing, it only heals yourself. Is this intentional? For an offensive spell with an 80 ft range and 2 aoe targeting circles you need to manage each cast not having the option to center the aoe heal portion of the spell around yourself is a huge pain in the butt IMO. Was gonna post on bugtracker but first bug I looked at had a comment saying you guys don't like "is this intended" questions there so thought I'd ask here first.
