As ppl before me said choppa shines in 6 man, wb but if you want to solo choppa the only real thing you need to do is learn when to detaunt(before you get knocked down and so on), you shold prob detaunt a sw when you get close to it cuz he will 90% of the time just bounce away and ranged knock you and start doing dmg to you. vs melee you shold learn how to kite and throw ur knife till you get red and then run in use ur knock and burst them down. Its not hard to solo with choppa it just requires practise :D (timing, and knowing when you can get away with what, when you can stay red and when you shold just get rid of it).

I'd say this is a wider problem that applies to a lot of private servers that run classic mmos.

Current choppa/slayer situation kinda describes it well. Back in the day on live servers you had a huge casual playerbase that consisted of clickers, keyboard turners and other people who had a rather relaxed attitude that let you slip with something that won't work on RoR — it's been years and most people around here know the drill too well.

Everyone knows that a red slayer/choppa is a renown pinata and after hitting them you're gonna see your pure damage numbers with barely any mitigation no matter if you're doing physical or magical damage.

The whole berserk bonus damage mechanic probably seemed like a strong selling point back when the classes were introduced but a lot of things also changed since then. For example marauders damage used to be noticeably lower cause flat 50% crit bonus wasn't there at the start, there used to be a slayer Fierce Might tactic mirror (10% crit damage per 10% hp lost).

Now it just feels obsolete. You go red and hit things but these things stacked armor skyhigh so you're landing like 1/3 of your damage. Get a friend with armor debuff? There are multiple classes that have one or another way to deal with that problem while also having damage and utility along with it.

I have tried soloing/pug on my choppa and its not something I would recommend. Get a group of people you trust and choppa is a beast. The choppa gear looks good only lacking a good looking helmet in my opinion.

Flatfoot has described it pretty well.

I've said this on multiple occasions and I'll say this here. Both SL/CH requires a bit of love, to be competitive.

Now that the changes were made to strong finish to no longer give you 10% inc chance to be crit, i want to point out the build ive been using thus far:

http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=chp ... ;;;0:0:0:0:

i am only rr50 so i dont have the ap restore exhaust yet.

Its all about stacking as much plus crit chance as possible

i have 15% from renown spec, 15% from tactic , 5% for reckless blow and another from 5% from set bonus and 2% from sc weapons so kinda like 50% chance to be crit for ST dps if you assume that on average the enemy has like 10% chance to be crit

Its not a very smart build as i dont have RD or CW or any parry but from DW or any of that but its kinda fun if you like seeing crits a lot and works well with SYG

question: isn't WS more beneficial then stacking strength/crit? with all armor socketing around we must avoid being mitigated as much as possible no? useless having high crib chance if ur crib gets halved by enemy armor no? (in theory at least!)
i wish to go WS>wounds>strength in this order to increase mi effectiveness. what you think about it?
