[Build] Engineer

I have searched the Forum thoroughly but couldn't find a corresponding Post.

The Thread is about the current Lvl. 20 Engineer. His Ability's, Tactics, and gear.
I know there are a lot of old Engineer Build Threads from the retail game. But most of them look at a lvl 40 full Renown character.

But in this Situation on the RoR Server we have a lvl cap of 20, and some special Gear sets. Like the current Calamitous ones, The Woe Gear and Rune Gear. And it is a cautious assumption that we will stay for a good while in T2.

So I start with my current gear and tell what my ideas are:

Lesti

Jewels and general Gear:
I have concentrated on Wounds, Toughness and Balistic skill.
Where possible I have ditched Strength and Weapons skill upgrades. So I was very happy to find the Lawmans Greathammer in a Trollcountry quest.

Mastery:
I have gone 5 Levels into Path of the Rifleman. I know that Path of the Grenadier is also quite good, with Toxic Grenade, Fragmentation Grenade, and Firebomb you can put serious damage on an opponent and against a group also.

Tactics:
Masterfull Aim (+Ballistic Skill)
Stubborness (+Corporeal Resistance)
-> There is also that knockdown, or quikcast Tactic, but both aren't that important. The later one is good for Farming but not really in RvR or Scenarios.
-> And the knock-back on Hipshot tactic is not what I really need. I use Hipshot to deal extra Damage against a fleeing Enemy, or quickly after Gunblast to have Damage spike. I don't want to knock the Enemy back. Especially not an enemy healer.

Moral:
Concealment (for 7 sec dodge Range Attacks and Magic attacks)
//That Knockback extra Damage thing is nice, but I have a lot of better damage Ability's already.
Unshakable Focus (+100% Damage)

So general Discussion is the basic one.
Go full on Ballistic skill, or go on survivability, so that the healers actually have some seconds to realize that you are taking damage and have time to heal you before you are dead.

I'm low on extra Ballistic Skill so my Gunblast is at 409 Damage at the moment.
Please tell me of your Gunblast Damage (if you are on the Riflemans Path) and link your Engineer on the Armory.

Which chapter did you find this quest?

I put 4 points into Tinkerer to get the Extra Ammo tactic. I am always out of AP and also I can place it by the healers to give them more AP. It seems like the best option right now. I put the last point in grenadier to get more DoT dmg.

regen ap tactic for the joy of your healers aoe heal spam, also aoe dot do more damage and you dont run iut of ap.

Leave away wounds, with some blue armor+ armor buff you can achive some pretty good def alredy, focus on toughnes and Ball SKill , they are just better in t2

Also thought about that. The Shotgunblast is an instantcast and can bleed your AP dry in some seconds.
Also if you are throwing Acid Grenade and Flamebomb around like a Boss.
Yesterday in the Engineer Formation we had at least two Engineers with the AP regeneration tactic.
Even when constantly on Blunderbass Blast I was almost not capable of getting to zero AP. :)

I used to play as a sniperbased engineer so I am low on wounds and toughness. I stack as much ballastics and weaponpower as possible for now. My role is that of a skirmisher and defender picking off healer or give that extra push in a melee situation. Once they get close to me I get cut into ribbons within seconds but that's all about flanking and taking up proper position in a battle.

On mastery I am still not certain what I will do with that after i tried a few things out.

So with the new mastery points, what Is your skilling fellow Engineers?

I was lazy and took this one.

But I was tempted by hollow point tactic which gives gunblast extra power.
But also with the current lvl increase you get this armor buff tactic.
+169 armor for me. Decreasing incoming damage from 36% to 46%. And it doesnt need a mastery point to use it.

What are your builds?

I am heading for Hollow-points for the extra dot and more dmg and Crackshot disarm and damage output. Furthermore I will be, once more, stacking up on ballistics and weaponpower

Lesti you can fire all those runepriests and start paying keg engineers 2g when we get level 26. How do you counter a full warband of kegs and rods?
Spoiler:
You Can't

Spoiler: you can't;

Made my day. :) :)

But you are right of course. If only 10 dwarfs have their kegs out, we have 2500 health every three seconds to everyone!
Also If the kegs are placed not on the same time it will have a constant flow of healt and not a peak one.

But also I doubt that usual engineers who roam the fields weekdays will skill so much in tinkerer.
Although tinkerer has my both favourite skills. Blunderbuss and landmine.

Something to think about. Is the healing of the keg willpower related or tinkerer related, or both?
