Login Time out - Tried all the advice I could find and nothing works

Hi there, I can get into the client through the launcher but I cant log into the server to make a character, it keeps saying login time out. This is a new account I have never played ROR before. I have tried making a new account, using the vpn hotspot shield, turning off my anti virus and firewall (i just had the standard windows 10 ones, I never used any others), moving the ROR folder into a different spot, unchecking read only... none of these have worked for me. Any ideas how to get past this?

Edit: I saw one post that said the patch had fixed their login issue, do I need to download a patch manually or is it all sever side?

So after getting no replies for this and racking my brain, downloading the client over and over, using different pcs and trying every solution provided on other threads I have found a work around for my issue, I'm providing it for people who have the same problem as me.

Basically if I start the game without the vpn I can get in and see the server but trying to connect results in a time out over and over. If I connect to the vpn and then launch the game I will get an authentication error every time with no solution working that I've found online. However, if I launch the game (with no vpn) and get to the part where I can see the browser, then alt tab out of the game and activate the vpn, alt tab back into the game and select the server it will log in and allow me to play. I have had the most success with hotspot shield, paid to be able to select the UK server seems to work every time, I have used free version of cyber ghost with mixed success, sometimes it works and other times it won't. Hopefully this helps some one
