It was a nice idea, but it has run its course and causes more problems than it prevents.
There are already bugs logged against it for not breaking if you score in a SC.
Latest bit of egregious behavior is Phoenix Gate ... our side winning by something like 360 to 130 or so. Order is absolutely slaughtering us on kills but not being particularly good at running the flag. Okay. I can work with that.
What happens instead, the dom timer kicks in with 4 minutes left even though we are leading by a couple hundred points. And it just ticks and ticks and ticks until they eventually win. So they get the full 500 point win plus any bonuses from all the kills. Clever (ab)use of the system, kind of defeats the point.
Bottom line, dom timer needs to go bye-bye. Broken mechanics. Encourages defeatism. And, to top it off, there is a way to exploit it that makes it essentially moot for its original purpose.

Re: Domination timer has got to go
it's one of many ways to win SC.
in your case
your team should've detour WC, waste enemy main force at wc.
if enemy stayed at wc domination won't kick in cuz less kills near wc.
if they split, your main force could fight splited enemy.
instead your team choose to headbutt stronger force.
one of many failed scenario, not system fault.

What? totally change our teams strategy that had us winning so far just because some buff timer started ticking?anarchypark wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:41 am it's one of many ways to win SC.

domination is started when your team died near wc constantly while you couldn't kill enemy.
it's to save from boring 15min farming.
why did your team give that chance to enemy, if you were winning?
brain failure.

Re: Domination timer has got to go
easy answer, because they bound enemy forces so a small unit was able to run the flag multiple times to win the sc !
using the bloodlust of the enemy to win the Objective ... is not something that should be punished !

WTF are you talking about? The objective of that SC is to run the flag by any means necessary. If the other side is too distracted by their ability to slaughter us to actually run the flag then they deserve a loss not a win because of a cheap mechanic. As a matter of fact forcing the other side to break up their perfect little premade(s) to run the flag is part of the strategy.anarchypark wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:41 am it's one of many ways to win SC.

Re: Domination timer has got to go
I have a better one, we had a Phoenix Gate with a premade on each side and some other people.
Premades went off to fight each other and eventually our side got pushed back to the WC. Me and some other guys went around and got the flag multiple times (including dropping it at the center).
Now the score is something like 290-50 and enemy side starts paying more attention to the objective, so we wrap up and go to fight with the main force to prevent them from even taking the flag, and suddenly - enemies start getting free points every second.
They had roughly like 20 kills against our ~5, but like 90% of these kills came from just 2-3 guys dying many times (most of that while doing the objective), rest of the team had no deaths or just one.
We basically lost the match due to "domination" when we had more points and when we regrouped and prepared to defend our flag in full force.
Maybe its confirmation bias but in my memory Domination always kicks in just when you are about to turn the tide or get the objective, while at the same time there are many many examples where one side is completely and utterly stomped yet domination never kicks in.
I have no idea how the system works but it needs some serious tweaks ._.

Re: Domination timer has got to go
The two things that start domination from what I’ve found is extrneee proximity to enemy WC and you have to have a certain K/D as a team; this means of the enemies never get a kill (death to WC guards don’t count) you will not get domination.Grock wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2019 3:20 pm I have a better one, we had a Phoenix Gate with a premade on each side and some other people.

let me repeat 1 more time.
it's one of many ways to win SC.
final goal is win.
objective is efficient way, not the only way.
your team kept throwing themselves as bones to campers. why would enemy leave?
2 or 3 tasty rdps would've been enough of bait for campers, still wouldn't gave domination.
your team failed to distract enemy from wc.
with recent event, a lot of ppl testing new toon.
saw 5 dps/tanks hitting 1 snb IB for eternity.
i guess same happened at your wc.
it's player issue.
