Choppa Weaponry

So I have decided to take the plunge that is called Choppa. All risk, all reward baby.

The big question I've got on my mind is: Is 2H Choppa a viable pick? Or am I rocking the dual wield?

I remember reading awhile back that you lose far too much defense by going with 2H, but it's been some time so I don't know if that has been changed or not.
