Ey'Quit Bleeding and DSU if you have time to prehot. DSU if... You have less time.
What are the tactics you use the most in order of priority
Run Away and detaunt tactics. Crit heal tactic. Restorative Burst (during siege). Greener and cleaner (extra hot). Ain't done yet.
I use those six and switch depending on situation. You will find your sweet spot for this after... certain amount of practice ;)
What morales do you use in order of priority
Focused mind is your best friend. Sometimes m1 heal coz shaman don't have any insta heal. M3 absorb looks good but if you don't run morale pump build you won't see this morale often.
What non healing abilities do you use in order of priority?
Cleans. Then puddle, absorb and silence are equaly important.

Lets be clear, the code was understandable. But it caused a headache because it was nested in a way that at least for me some thing were annoying to say the least to find, it also did not help that there were multiple different implementations of the ab ex system for different classes.

Those 2 things coupled with the fact that (at least my mindset) we are in alpha and hardcoding some changes (like ab ex did) just means that the person in change of balance currently cant do tweaks himself as hes not a source coder, and it would require a full reboot instead of a command to reload the abilities.

As such it was decided (quite unanimously) that ab ex had to go.

I believe the Shaman is in a good place.

Shaman healing is sufficient and actually shines when there is only 1 Healer in a group spamming group heal on guarded targets in SCs. If you have a bunch of unguarded delicate targets it will obviously not single-target heal/cleanse as well as Zealot or DOK.

Shaman damage is ok in the right spec. Getn Smarter really helped both for its extra DoT and Int buff. The Int buff allows for more renown points to be put in Crit.

Shaman in ORvR is great, especially in small mans and has a spot as a kiting Healer/Util or DPS/Util role for 6 mans as well.

I think what I am wrestling with is am I supposed to be doing DPS when playing this class? My goal is to heal as much as I possibly can with it. So i'm trying to decide if balancing the mechanic or just healing nonstop is the best way to go

If you want to heal just bust it out constantly, but do use some Util like Heal Debuff, AP Drain and Sticky when you can. An occasional Bleed For Me on a pet or turret adds another HoT for ya.

Shaman dps is only for solo roaming, in group it's just a joke. Mecanics are useless atm, they are no good hybrid spec available (tested) i let you guess why.
just healing nonstop is the best way to go
Yes, just don't be scared running out of AP 24/7 it's normal, if you are not a gobbo lover i would suggest you to play something else

Oh I totally love my Gobo!!!!! I mostly played it recently because it worked out great for roaming with the lifetap mechanic adding some more fun to the kiting experience as healing on my DoK is horrible while roaming in a smaller group (imo).

Okay, i'll just give up on the mechanic part, I've tried to balance it out a bit but there really isn't any point in it. those 2s casts are so hard to stomach sometimes man... But I will see what I can do :D.

Try to combine RD with focused mind for 20 sec protection from cc. With RD long casts are not so bad, with morale... it's not so long.

Okay, thanks again for all this. I hope this isn't stealing the thread but I'm trying to prove that Shaman is viable lol. As I've said I spent the majority of my time with WP/DoK as well as Runie/Zel, zero AM time and majority of Shammy time was DPS or the Experimental mode.

Okay, so basically I have 3 hots. 4 with green cleaner. I try and have the toughness HoT up all the time, if I have time i'll throw the 20 second HoT on, and if it is looking like a YOLO situation I'll throw on Shrug it Off. The shield is pretty similar to when I play my DoK so I have that down. My silence and AP drain get disrupted a lot so can't always find a target for that lol. What kills me is trying to anticipate when I will have the time to cast a 2 second heal...

I'm farting around with Gork Fix'd It - just to have more healing on the move, not really sure how I like it. I def like run away, detaunt tactic, and 10% heal crit, but the 4th is situational I feel for certain. I get that overall numbers in SC charts might be down since we have no 1 second semi AOE lifetap for like 1500-2k lol. But holy crap I have to work my butt off just to heal decently well. Like On my DoK it is muscle memory at this point so it feels simple, but on the shammy I'm doing literally everything I can and it feels like I'm healing with divine fury on.
