Is one of those classes currently out competing the other or they about equal?

The last great Witch Elf Witch Hunter Competition was held in 2021, at the square in Praag. The Witch Hunters scored early, but then suffered a set-back with Agnes Sloghammer of the Sisters of AC/DC intercepted a knife and ran it back for a touch down right through the heart of the Witch Hunter Quarterback.

The final score was 29 to 3.

Witch Elves are better.

I think the general consensus is that overall WH is better due to M1 and Repel Blasphemy I believe especially against mdps targets. Now that doesn't mean that certain WE's wont out perform a comparable WH's at certain fights / matchups.

BX has more melee defense via parry and better finishers. More logical specialization trees. WE are more effective in defensive builds via absorption and regeneration. Fights between these classes are +/- equal and very dependent on the experience and skill of the players.

Solater - def WE, in most cases just aviod the fight as WH.
Killsattva - dd WE, depends on situation can kill or be killed, more about luck and environment.

Core WH\WE rules - get BiS before make any conclusions about class, remember your enemy by name, grab best pots and spend it a lot, more fights = more expertise.

Main difference - WE can make good def build, WH can be 100% parry for a longer duration. And of course different set of enemies WL\WP or SH\Shammy - this is the highest difference.

P.S. better to find experienced WH\WE and run as duo\trio for some time in voice - will help a lot with getting base class knowledge.

Wh is better burst while retaining defensive options

We is better sustain over long fights

in organized (voice comms + proper group comp with healers/tanks) group content such as 3/6/12man roaming, scenario premade, city siege, etc. they are pretty much equal. both have high burst, same amount of CC, strong morales (WH better m4, WE better m3), good utility (both have antirez), good debuffs (both have access to IHD and OHD) etc. the difference in organized smallscale/instanced group content will come down to individual player and team skill, not class choice in this case.

in 1v1 it depends on whom you're fighting and what build you are using; there are too many variables to quantify if one is truly better in this area. WH will typically perform better against enemy melee due to having access to Repel + M1 granting a long period of 100% parry. WE has the option of playing regen/defensive builds due to the large amount of corporeal damage in their kit and will excel in fighting classes that lack a resistance buff as a result because a larger portion of their damage will be unmitigated vs WH who is almost entirely physical and all players have some amount of armor. WH can play regen/deftard builds too, but it is not quite as effective imo.

the one place that there is a clear difference is in warband gameplay. WH is FAR superior to WE in warbands due to having aoe armor debuff and guaranteed bullet procs for aoe debuffing, as well as access to tactics like Vindication which can easily maintain 100% uptime in warband/largescale aoe situations causing your damage to be much higher than WE in this case. this ONLY applies to warbands and largescale (48v48+ fights).
