Hopeful New-ish Player

Hi! I played the original Age of Reckoning and adored it but even then I was in high school and less concerned with being competitive and more concerned with just enjoying T1-T3 casually. I'm an Order player at heart through and through and loved Engineer, Swordmaster, Warrior Priest and Archmage back then, in that order.

Two friends have been poking me for the longest time to give RoR a try and I finally caved. I had a few questions that I've seen answered in the past after glancing at the forums but just wanted to double check to see if the old answers still hold truth now. If it helps I am NA-West so I was nervous about ping issues coming into this knowing the location of the server.

1) There's talk about Destro outnumbering Order significantly across the board. I'm not interested in running into 3-4 vs 15+ fights if my time-frame isn't right and I don't care to add to the imbalance by making it 16+. If it's more like 9-10 vs 13-14 I'm down for an uphill battle, but not a hopeless slaughter. Is it still as bad as people made it out to be? :|

2) There's a lot of griping there on Order classes being outright too weak (SW) and other classes lacking significant AoE in an AoE meta (WH/WL) without much to make up for it, people pointing blame that anyone playing those classes is choosing to make their team lose while generally people seem to talk about Destro classes as all viable and balanced from what I saw (minus SH RDPS lacking but having a MDPS spec to make up for it). How much truth is there to that?

3) Schedules don't always align so I might run solo sometimes until I find a guild or make some more/new WH:RoR friends. There was talk that solo scenarios are a bad choice but regs are fine. (Sorry if I'm misunderstanding any terminology) Is this true?

4) Is Engineer viable/competitive? I didn't see much talk about it at a glance. I love this class the most and would hate to hear it is in the gutter but I'd rather not throw the time and effort into a class that can't carry their own weight, especially with the odds seemingly stacked so high in the opposite direction already because of the prior issues.

5) Any other little tips for a new player just wanting to fall in love with Warhammer all over again? I downloaded swift-assist after reading an old post and plan to read up on class guides during/after T1.

Also THANKS to the Devs for reviving a loved game! :D
