New Player question\help request: Ironbreaker

Hi there! I've been playing WAR back in the days, but never reached Hi-end, so i may be considered a new player.

Started playing here as an Ironbreaker. I do like the class, its aesthetics and how it feels overall, the lore behind it and i'd like to continue playing it.
However, i'm 21\28 now and i still can't find my play style in RVR\Scenario

I'm a team player, so i like to protect others and be useful for the team. Solo kills and damage dealt are not that much of importance for me.
In SCs: Team members seem to ignore the guard\oathfriend, and there's a feeling that they just don't need it. I don't mean low level characters, but a higher lvl ones (i try to guard healers\two-handed tanks most of the time).
Also, enemies seem to ignore me completely. Most of the characters are unaffected by knockdowns and root most of the time, so i'm kinda useless here too. When i try to disturb healers with knockdowns\knockbacks, this has no great effect on the battlefield, expect for very rare situations, when i catch the healer off-cds, have allies around, and i can CC it to death.

In RVR: nor my damage output, nor my CCs do not seem to be useful at all. Im just a hard target to kill and sometimes i can Hold The Door due to model collision.

As a damage dealer with axe\shield im kinda useless.

Should i respec for greatweapon and just focus on damage dealing, instead of CC\tanking\supporting? I would prefer not doing this, if possible

What play style as IB may be considered useful for the WB\team?
Any advise is appreciated. I dont wanna drop the class but i feel a bit lost with it.
