Can't connect to the server

Hi guys, I'm after a bit of help getting the game running.

Downloaded the game 3 days ago, followed the installation instructions to the letter, launched the game fine, no error messages at all, but it fails to connect. (empty black box where the connection notifications would be)

Closed it down, re-run, repeat, repeat... but nothing, literally 50+ attempts and black box has never once been populated.

Tried it the next day, same thing, and again today.
Tried reinstalling both versions (torrent and the .rar)
disabled all firewalls or potential connection blockages.

No error messages or log entries that would indicate where the problem lies.

Can anyone think of something to try?

black box? after launcher connection? Mmm you may update/install .net framework :

Thanks, but still no luck after installing .net fw.

I get green lights on the web and login servers and it validates my username/password correctly.

It creates the log entries successfully in logs/login.ddmmyy.log

Game starts up without problems, but does nothing until after 20 seconds or so the WAR.exe crashes and the log entry shows:

Looks like it fails session authentication, but I'm not sure if that helps any.
Anything else I could try?

Try adding the game to your exception list in antivirus and firewall settings. You may need to try using a VPN for your initial connection to the server.

Update:

Finally have it working.
Wasn't an issue with firewall or antivirus.
Tried some vpns; Hotspotshield and NordVPN made no difference, but cyberghost did the trick just before I abandoned all hope.

Guess that means it's my ISP being a ****, although it doesn't explain why one vpn works and others don't.

Are you running a VPN? If not, try it out, it might help like it did to the OP here. Just google VPN and you will get plenty of answers on how to run one.

i dont know what is VPN & I have played Warhammer from 2016/3 to now & only i cant play within this 3 days

As I said, google it, you will find plenty of them. It allows you to avoid interference and censorship, and hides your IP address. If your ISP is blocking you from playing the game, a VPN could help you.
