Version of game

Hello all,

I am really glad i found an (active) private server of this game, but am wondering what version this server runs on. I stopped playing maybe 2 months after the release of the increase of renown rank 80 to 100, and it did more damage than good imho. Having defensive and offensive sets allowed certain hybrids such as the grace specced warrior priests actually melee-heal. However shortly after they nerfed alot of the traits (making melee healing for WP for example impossible). Is this server a top renown rank 80 or 100 version?

The server is based off the 1.4.8 client version (the latest build as of 18th Decemeber 2013).

The intention is to revive the game at the point the server's closed. So to answer your question, RR100.

We're years away from that, so for now it's not important.

Aaaw, i hate the rr100 gameplay + skaven crap. Fighting as a lvl40/rr80 player vs a lvl40/rr100 player was the same as fighting as a lvl40 player against a lvl45 player because of the "hidden levels" and this is not even considering the insane procs on the sets.
The whole concept of "bolstering" players was levered out thanks to this...
This just brought more imbalance to the game and all this "new content" was just created to make some quick money to please the shareholders...

Edit: there was something good on the RR100 changes: some of textures look really nice (e.g. white lion RR90 axe).

Edit 2: I remember now, that in the end all players were bolstered to lvl45 in pvp. But it was too late for the game...

I have mentioned this before and idk why i say it again because it will be a long time if ever that we see t4 but my opinion is to keep rr100 as max renown BUT have any weapons, armor etc etc which requires anything greater then rr80 as appearance only items.

i left after the 1.4 patch, was out for a few monhs, came back, could no longer compete on any level

i don't think it's something to worry about for a very long time though

It wasnt the levels and renown. Bolster gave bonus levels so everyone was r45 in rvr.

The games huge balance problems that ultimately killed the game. Were down to a cash grab rushed pvp expansion. That added gear that was far better than what those of lower renown had access to. This gear generally favoured mdps classes as its wdps was so much higher.

Bugged lotd talismans that heavily inflated dps and healing while favouring certain classes. BW+Sorcs due to getting much better returns for crit stacking and ghealing healers due to the huge push to gheals via crit which put gheals much higher than they should have been.

Along with a few terrible balance changes. Like dok+wp given the best stheal in game that was also resource free and could be used while fleeing.

Without the bugged lotd talisman and the new gear, that was clearly made to be overpowered to make it mandatory to buy the expansion, the game would have been in a similar state to 1.3.5 when it was at its most balanced. Warpforged killed balance not 20 renown ranks. Id advise the devs to just downgrade the stats to sovereign levels and have them as alternative appearances. In the soverign and mixed invader/warlord/sov days the game was far more fun and there wasnt a huge barrier that stopped new players and ended with an empty dead game.
